Q: nafta gets scrapped? besides magna, the lumber industry, and many other exporters dealing with the U.S., COULD THIS IMPACT THE ENTIRE CANADIAN STOCK MARKET I think the market is taking this issue too lightly Most of us have recenly profited from a bull market Is it time to cash in most of our chips or are there parts of the market we can buy that will not be effected by nafta bad news?
Q: What was your take on the update announced by Magna mgt for the coming year? They provided growth projections but there was no context in the article so I don't know if the numbers represent much in the way of growth.
Appreciate your insight.
Appreciate your insight.
Q: LNR is obtaining $100 mln in grants from federal and provincial govs. What caught my attention was this : "It also said the grants will support a Linamar innovation centre focused on technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and collaborative robotics". Do you have any insights beyond this press release on what LNR is planing to do or what it has done so far in this area? How do they compare to Magna in this area?

Q: Seeking two or possibly three solid dividend producing Canadian stocks that have major US exposure for a non registered account. Thanks.
Q: If Nafta gets ripped up, the auto industry in North America stands to be severely disrupted. In the short term I expect many will get hurt. I'm thinking I should be proactive and sell-off Magna now while it is still near its top. But what to replace it with? Does TB (Toronto Dominion BanK) stand to show a major growth spurt once its new AI acquisition is in place and providing heretofor unavilable information on its clients? I hope your 2018 is as good as 2017 was.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
For this year's RRIF payment, I need to sell approximately 14K of stocks as I've been almost fully invested over the last year, in large measure due to 5i's superb recommendations. The stocks listed above are in sectors where I am overweight. I have several questions, so please deduct credits as you see fit:
(1) If I sold CGX outright, I'd obtain roughly 14K and would reduce my total number of holdings and lower my overweight consumer discretionary stocks. Even though CGX has fallen from its lofty heights, I'm still up, especially when factoring in the accumulated dividends. Also, there would be only one sell transaction. Are you OK with this plan?
(2) Are there any others in the list that could/should be an outright sell?
(3) Or, would a better plan be to reduce holdings in each stock by taking profits?
Of course, this would mean more sell transaction fees.
As always, I defer to your recommendations, and have been rewarded for doing so. Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan & Staff,
Seeing how NFI has been moving sideways, would it be better to switch out of it and go with MG instead.
What are your thoughts.
Thanks for the great service.

Q: Hi - I currently own Linamar (4% weight in a 22 stock portfolio) with a small profit remaining. I was wondering about switching to Magna and wondering about your thoughts on this? I'm a growth investor so looking for best prospects for next 12 months. Alternatively, if you feel neither should be held at this point, I'm ok with that as well. Thanks as always.
Q: for a small position in a tfsa account would you recommend mg or nfi for a 2 to 3 year hold? Would you please evaluate using your usual thorough metrics? Thank you/

Q: Is it now a good time to invest in MG or LNR?Which one would you pick and please explain. Thanks
Q: You indicated that MG, like many other companies, will be or have bought back shares. Once the shares are repurchased what happens: a) do the shares reside with MG and can be resold at a later date? Or B) the shares deleted from the total pool of shares under MG? ie the share count is forever reduced. Or c) something else?
Many thanks.
Clayton
Many thanks.
