Q: Hello 5i, since both look cheap at the moment, I would like to select one for a long term hold (at least 10 years). I am looking for dividend growth. Thanks.

Q: what sector should magna be under, Industrial or Consumer Cyclical
Q: Can you please give me your top 3-4 industrial stock picks. Looking at adding some diversity to my holdings, 5% industrial. Don't have any industrial picks other than what is held in ZDV. Moreover, if I hold physical gold and silver would this be considered material sector allocation?
Q: Can you name a few companies that have been beat up due to fears surrounding Trump's presidency that would be a good investment as a value play?
Q: Hi Peter and Team
Do you have any further thoughts on how Magna will be affected by Trump's "Made in America" policies now that he has been inaugurated and started to hold meetings with car manufacturers?
Thanks so much for your opinion

Q: Hi 5i: Thanks for answering my question about the cyclical and non-cyclical stocks, and also for identifying the Discretionary/Staples categorization (which I also found puzzling). The only stock in the balanced portfolio that I thought I knew how to classify was Magna - I believe Peter once explained it was discretionary not industrial, as one might think. You did not list this one in your response. Does that mean that MG has been re-classified? AS I said in my question, I find this categorization class a real puzzle.
Q: How do you assess the risks for magna in Trump's protectionist threats?
Q: Magna is clearly getting whacked whenever Trump is critical of non-US operations involving almost any car manufacturer and is down again today. I am considering selling my position at a small gain and appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: What is your top choic for a consumer discretionary stock? With thanks rose
Q: Good morning:
I am a retired investor who owns small weightings in the above-mentioned shares. I am thinking of selling Ford and re-investing the money elsewhere while still having a position in the auto sector with the other two companies. I would like your thoughts on this and how you think this sector will perform in 2017. Have auto sales peaked?
Thank you.

Q: I know 5i's focus is not value investing but could I get the top 3 picks from your coverage universe that would fit or somewhat fit the criteria of a "value" stock at current prices.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Are the auto parts companies considered industrials or consumer discretionary? Thanks Bill
Q: I had to sell xtc because of tax loss selling. Would you consider buying it back or do you recommend another stock or two. Is it considered in the industrial sector?. Thanks for the great service. Bill
Q: I currently own LNR in a non-rrsp account for a 2% holding. I don't have any cash in this account to buy MG but do have cash in my RRSP account to buy MG for 2% weight. Would you recommend this or just buy more LNR to bring it up to 4% weight.
- Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI)
- Enbridge Inc. (ENB)
- Linamar Corporation (LNR)
- Magna International Inc. (MG)
- Spin Master Corp. Subordinate Voting Shares (TOY)

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
Without knowing my portfolio details, I know it is hard to give advice. However, I do have a diversified portfolio and am looking to add a long term growth stock and a dividend paying stock without using my cash. I have to sell a stock and replace with another. I constantly hear good things about Spin Master. I was thinking of selling Alterra Power corp and Brookfield Business Partners and use proceeds to buy Spin Master. Does this switch make sense? Kinder morgan (aside from protests) has had good news with government approval and potential sale of their assets. However, the stock is not moving which is surprising. Is it worth holding or replace with ENB and TRP to get some growth and dividends. Lastly, Magna and Linamar have had good gains. Time to sell or let them run? Please let me know. Thanks again

Q: I did not heed your advice to purchase to purchase Magna when it was a top pick of yours a few months ago on market call. Is it too late to hop back in? Do you see some more upside?
Thank you

Q: Magna pays their dividends in USD. On their website they indicate that their dividends are "eligible" thus eligible for DTC. How does one be as tax-efficient as possible, not pay brokerage a conversion fee for USD to CAD conversion, and apply DTC? Cannot apply DTC if held in TFSA or RSP.
Q: Hi did I miss news on the auto sector? These stocks are up a lot suddenly. We're they just oversold or is there some data regarding "peak auto"? If so, then this strength could spread to XTC and PIH?
- Gildan Activewear Inc. (GIL)
- Cineplex Inc. (CGX)
- NFI Group Inc. (NFI)
- Boyd Group Income Fund (BYD.UN)
- Magna International Inc. (MG)
- A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (AW.UN)
- Exco Technologies Limited (XTC)
Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team, I need to top up my consumer discretionary holdings and already have close to full positions in the above stocks. Please recommend several possible purchases, or are there any of the stocks I already hold that could be overweight by a bit (excluding XTC)? Alternatively, since I don't have much US exposure, might there be a suitable ETF with decent growth? Thanks in advance.
