Q: Hi,
On Jan. 5, Paul asked about an alternative to PSA at TD. Your suggestion was HISA but as you say, you don't know all the products at each brokerage. HISA is not available for online trades. All I've found at TD in this category is TDB8150 TD Investment Savings Account (no load) under mutual funds, which pays only 0.25% right now.

Q: Not surprisingly, BAM.A has dropped a bit due to the proposed purchase of the BYP.UN shares. Is this a good entry point?

Q: BPY/BAM possible deal.
As a holder of BPY the sale of BPY at the suggested price of $16.50/share is an absolute steal and robbery that is well timed to take advantage of the situation as we come out of the pandemic. That of my chest, to quote; "BROOKFIELD ASSET MANAGEMENT - HAS ASKED BPY BOARD TO APPOINT SPECIAL COMMITTEE OF INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS TO COMMISSION INDEPENDENT VALUATION OF BPY UNITS"
How independent is this special committee likely to be? Is it likely that there will be a vote of all share holders?

Thanks, Stephen S

I was thinking of transferring cash from sale of NFI to my US account to increase US holdings.
Note C$ is increasing against U$.
Would you agree with this move or stay my current investment strategy. If so would you suggest adding to current U$ position or another suggested stock?

Q: Hi 5i,
I have been following nano dimension (nndm) with great interest but it is not currently listed on your site. It is an Israeli company involved with 3D printing electronic circuit boards. Its share price has appreciated quite rapidly in the last several months Do you have an opinion one way or the other? Is this a company you would have any interest in at current price for 3- 5 year hold? Why or why not?
thx
Jim

Q: Happy New Year to all at 5i!!
In answer to John on Jan5 you said you would be reluctant to transfer LSPD to a TFSA because it would trigger a capital gain. I’m faced with the same situation and would like to understand your reasoning. My thinking is to transfer to the TFSA, pay some tax and get years of tax free gains in the future. Love to hear your thoughts.

Q: I own all three in my RRSP in equal position. Outside of my RRSP, I have large exposure to the US markets (>50%).

I'm thinking on consolidating banks by selling RY & TD to buy BNS. BNS is up from its previous lows but looks to be trading at reasonable multiplies.

Thoughts?
