Q: I use XIT as my technology proxy and NNRG as my energy proxy, both in my TFSA. My current thinking is to trim-add around core positions to meet portfolio asset allocation targets.

In general terms, what does your crystal ball say about future performance...1-2 years out? Eric thinks energy could double. What do you think technology (XIT) will do...lately it seems to be around the 30+% for a 5 year average? Just trying to ballpark their relative potential performance.

Thanks...Steve

Q: After today's pop, is it too late to get on the bandwagon for a short term trade for the next 6 months? I am overweight tech already and it would be an addition to the sector exposure. Or, perhaps wait for it to settle down before taking a position- see how volatile the market may be the next couple of weeks.
Your opinion is appreciated.

Q: I need to raise some cash so need to sell one or two stocks in my TFSA which is growth focussed. I am probably a little heavy on tech. Could you rank the order of stocks that you would sell. I am tempted to sell TTD after its recent gain but I am not sure this is the best option. Could you offer short a short comment regarding the top two on the list?

Q: Roku and Acuity Brands of have dropped to around 1% each in my Portfolio. I also have Alphabet and Enthusiast Gaming. I am thinking of selling ROKU and AT and buying Disney. Does this make sense or would you do something else with the above mentioned stocks. Thanks as always for the help.

Q: Hello 5i
I have been considering how to improve my TFSA in the New year and am asking you to advice on this. Currently I hold Bam, Magna, Boyd and Microsoft there, among others. I can replace these with Nvidia and Google. Which ones would you replace?
Thanks

Q: Dear Peter and team,

I know from your previous answer to my question and others, you believe in momentum as an important factor in investing.

Do you think the recent price action in the energy and Gold sectors are real and sustainable? Do you think they have the momentum and the legs to go for some more time, say a year?

Gold has hit 1900 before but really hasn't gone beyond 2000+ in a sustained fashion. Plus Bitcoin is here to stay?

Q: Here is the current EV/EBITDA ratios for the following energy producers (lowest to highest): CPX (8.3), BEP.UN (9.3), NPI (11.6), FTS (13.0), H (14.0), AQN (16.5), BLX (17.4), INE (37.1). CPX seems to be a top contender for value, with lowest P/B too at 1.49. Considering all factors, please rank from best to worst, in terms of possible best total return over the next 10 years.
Thanks!

Q: Peter and Ryan - This isn't a question but rather a warning to those members like Jason who are constantly heaping praise on you regarding your service. Don't these people understand that by fawning over you they pave a slippery slope that inevitably leads to higher annual fees. Far better to remain silent. Or how about zinging you with the odd critique to insert an element of doubt regarding the wisdom of any increase. Come on fellow members, learn some basic psychology! I long for those questions some years ago that lambasted you occasionally when markets were weak. Could the absence of that negative sentiment towards you of late be a sign of market froth? Frankly though if I'm to be completely honest your service is irreplaceable and your fees damn reasonable! Oops. Good thing I just renewed.
