Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Given the current market sell-off, could you please give me three growth stocks and three value stocks that you believe are seriously oversold and "on sale" at current levels. Would appreciate a line or two on why you are choosing these stocks.
Thanks!

Q: Happy Friday,

With the current dip and a further downside expected are there any income equities that you would classify as very attractive.

Looking for some new ideas. I have lots of banks, pipes, telcos, utilities, insurance cos, etc. but am not immune to buying more.

Anything in the US really strike you fancy?

Thanks very much and have a great weekend.

Q: Seems like there is some indiscriminate selling of rate reset prefs
last few days. Not sure this makes sense.
What are your three top rate reset ideas at the moment, that are NOT in the energy/pipeline sector
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i Team - GoGold has fallen off by about a third since March. Do you know of any reasons for this. I am considering purchasing a small position but am concerned about the downward momentum. Also are there any other junior golds with some production as well as exploration potential that you would recommend. Thanks.

Q: For the income investor, would you be buying CVD right now as it hits some lows, or would you wait as it could continue to go down? What do you think is a good entry point? Or are there better options out there for the same type of dividend? And do I get the dividend tax credit in a non registered account? Thanks so much, your services are much appreciated in times like these.

Q: Hello, I am thinking of purchasing BAM.A. For tax efficiency is it best in a non registered or corporate account? Not clear about what percentage qualifies as a full position in my portfolio. What would be a guideline.

Q: This company has been moving up lately due to the shift to value. I hold an overweight position in several accounts and after several years of flat to negative price momentum i am considering selling my positions as its earnings are very lumpy and has not proven to be the best investment. Would you sell now or wait for the momentum to hopefully take the stock higher?

Q: Everyone, I was never good at knowing when the market tops out or when it hits a bottom - the bell never rings. What I know is holding the best of the best and waiting ten years, it always works. My techs are down - yawn - but in the last decade my investments are up 10 times my original investment. I will take that everyday! Many thanks for your work and I all your responses EVERYDAY! Q: I have noted in many questions you seem to distinguish between a starting position price and a price to add to a position. What is the difference in the thought process on starting position price and adding to a position price?
Thank you, Mike
