Q: Hello 5I,
I own the above 2 companies and am down 25% and 40% respectively. Just wondering if you still believe in these 2 companies and think they are worth sticking around for.
Thanks

Q: I am a retired investor with some room for growth in our portfolio.
I 'like' MKSI, am underwater on my investment, and recognize the challenges the chip sector has been and is facing. I would appreciate 5i's thoughts on this firm's solid long term potential for profitable growth.
What does 5i 'see' in the delay in acquiring Atotech? How important does 5i view the acquisition to MKSI's strategic position?
Given the importance of the China market, does 5i see MKSI proceeding with the acquisition without China's approval?
Would 5i recommend selling the shares for a tax loss now, with a view to buying them back in 30 days?
Thank you for your comments.
Edward

Q: If you go back in time anywhere from today to a few months, a lot of stocks have a previous low whereas with NVDA and AMD it is not the case, they continue to make lower lows for a lot longer than a few months ago. Have you got a reason why? SW has been performing very well for quite some time but I didn't buy it because 5i has not been too fond of it. Is this still the case? Thank you
Q: What would be safe bond ETFs with decent dividends for the next 2 or 3 years.
-
Alphabet Inc. (GOOG)
-
iShares U.S. Technology ETF (IYW)
-
Nuvei Corporation Subordinate Voting Shares (NVEI)
Q: Good Morning. In your response to Mike this morning you stated: "NVEI is slightly cheaper than a large-cap tech name such as GOOG (one of IYW's top holdings), but NVEI has a much stronger growth profile, but at the cost of longevity uncertainty." Did you mean that NVEI has a much stronger growth profile than GOOG or IYW ?
Thank you,
Dennis

Q: Everyone, I never believed the multiple at $160 per share and I don’t believe the multiple at $25 per share. What is the appropriate multiple for today and one year from today. I have held the stock since the summer of 2019 and I have added many times since. I believe the strategic plan the company has changed for the better, with added features to the software. Clayton

Q: Hi Peter,
Everything is down these days…..
I have a bunch of Shopify, and FB
Your thoughts on getting rid of SHOP and FB and move that money to GOOG ?
Do you think SHOP and FB will come back ?
Your suggestions on what to buy on selling SHOP and FB ? Something that is down and has more upside and better fundamentals….
Thanks

Q: Hi!
I got into CIX a few months ago at around $20. I am happy to hold and wait to break even at least. Would you be able to suggest how long that will wait will be? Also, are the fundamentals still in place for CIX for the market to pay $20 for CIX.
Not to worry...it wasn't a massively concentrated position or anything! : )

Q: I live in a city where every other car seems to be a Tesla. I noticed on teslas loan page that they only deal with the three banks mentioned above when it comes to financing.
Will this materially move the needle for any of these institutions in the long run?
Thanks

Q: hi, 5i
I hold these 4 in my USD account. META is down 28%, PFE up 48%, other 2 are break even. thinking of positioning for an eventual recovery, and surviving any further downturns, do you like these? would you sell any, and if so, what would you replace them with? cheers, chris

Q: Peter and 5i Gang
Am I the patsy at this betting table ? Looking at Converge and I can not figure out if I should raise on my next bet. The business look attractive with today's economics and the runway for growth. What's the 5i house's thoughts on this bet ?
Thanks
Patrick

Q: We owned Onex since 2006, we are from $20 to$ 64. Not that great given the meagre dividend. It is about 1% of total portfolio. we have some newly realized cash and wonder if we should augment the position to 3% given the low valuation now.
could you suggest other well priced private equity or conglomerate, (Claivest?) We are looking at the long term.
Thank you.

Q: Hi, Any comments/change about our Energy Sector Holdings strategy of 7.5-10% weighting, in light of Oil prices tumbling below US$100 today. Oil and Gas equities are taking a big hit and now trading back at the most recent lows made a few weeks ago when oil price dropped to $104. Do you think, sector could see more pressure in coming weeks/months, with fear of recession growing ? Is any action warranted ?Thank You
Q: As it appears to me we are probably headed toward some level of recession it seems likely that an economic slowdown will be negative for energy stocks such as TOU. First of all do you agree with me that a recession is possible, maybe probable, and secondly if you do do you agree the it may be timely to unload stocks such as TOU or are you of the opinion that energy prices will remain high in view of world wide need for energy, Russia etc
