iShares 1-5 Year Laddered Government Bond Index ETF (CLF)
-
iShares Core Canadian Universe Bond Index ETF (XBB)
Q: Our advisor has recommended that we sell some of our equities and purchase more fixed income funds. His recommendations are Manulife Strategic Income F (CAD); TD Retirement Balanced Portfolio F Series; Fiera Defensive Capital Global Equtiy Fund and Lysander-Canso Corporate Value Bond Fund. We are already invested in Pimco Monthly Income Fund (PMO 205), DFA Five-Year Global Equity and CBO. We are leaning in favour of investments we already own as well as XSB, XBB and CLF. We are looking for Canadian, US and International diversification. What would you recommend?
Q: What is your assessment of SOT.UN's late afternoon announcement regarding the lease extension with Medavie? Will it have a material impact on the company's earnings, cash flow and its monthly payouts?
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
Q: I have read your comments about companies records of meeting/missing/beating estimates. ULTA just raised their guidance and is up over 10% at the moment, but where would I find their record of beating estimates?
Thx as always.
Thx as always.
Q: Interesting comments from David Baskin yesterday on why he still holds HCG. Only 8% of their portfolio is insured, so new mortgage rules should have a limited impact, and estimated earnings are $4.00 so very cheap at current price. As a longterm holder I'm considering averaging down. Appreciate your advice.
Q: Any news on abt today. The price is up over 3%. Is this a good time to buy? Thanks
Q: Great mgt. team . 5 % bump today

Q: Westdome gold recent events - released production #'s for Q 3, a new CEO, a very positive news release on Aug 24th. What do you make of these events, including price pull back. Also your take on CEO's comments in today's release. Thanks
Q: Can you please comment on this quarter, I am specifically looking for growth outlook, at a glance it looks better to me but I am not an expert in financials.
Can you also please comment on the recent resolving of litigation and the partnership that was just formed. How do you see these affecting sales and bottom line, if at all?
I have owned this name for a while and need to decide whether I should hold or take my losses. Any names you would replace it with in the same sector?

BMO Equal Weight REITs Index ETF (ZRE)
-
iShares S&P/TSX Capped REIT Index ETF (XRE)
-
Vanguard FTSE Canadian Capped REIT Index ETF (VRE)
Q: Hello 5i team,
Which ETF is best suited for a long term hold (30 yrs) in a TFSA that will be DRIPPED and contributed to annually. I like the equal weight positions of ZRE but with a higher MER of .61% over the long term it seems the fee's could really start corroding my capital. VRE is the cheapest but also has the smallest yield and is market cap weighted. Is it possible BMO could lower these fee's in the future to stay competitive? I would eventually like to draw income from the holding.
Always appreciate the you insights

iShares U.S. High Dividend Equity Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XHD)
-
Vanguard U.S. Dividend Appreciation Index ETF (VGG)
Q: I read the blog on U.S. dividend aristocrats but unless I missed something there was no specific ticker or recommendation made. Does 5i have suggestion for an etf to take advantage of this strategy?
Q: Please let me know your thoughts about FTG
Thank you
Thank you
Q: ANY THOUGHT ON THE CURRENT PROSPECTS FOR cxi
Q: My longest holding (20 yrs) is FRU which I have sold down over the good years, but still held some through lots of up and downs. I have held VET but eventually sold after its big run up in 2014. I am thinking of switching my remaining (and only O&G stock) FRU for VET. I invest for income, preferably with some growth prospect. However, I believe there is a possibility of CN (I think) taking FRU private and would be disappointed to miss out on the usual take over premium. Your thought would be appreciated.

Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAR.UN)
-
Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust (CUF.UN)
Q: Peter, I've been thinking of CAR.UN for a long-term hold; it yields about 4.4% But I just saw Ross Healy (who I think has a pretty good track record for conservative investors) recommend Cominar, with its 10% yield. I have no need for active income; everything will be reinvested. For a long-term hold, would you expect someone to do better overall (including distributions of course) with CAR.UN or CUF.UN? The units will be held in an RRSP. Thank you.
Q: I'm looking add a new position in my TFSA....
Over the next year or two which of the following would favor? SYZ;QHR;PEO;ZCL;ABT, or possibly some-other name.
Thanks
