Q: Hello 5i team,
In response to a fellow member question regarding MG and XTC, you seem to have classified them in the Industrials sector. I had my holdings in MG and LNR as Consumer Discretionary Cyclicals; even though they fit in both sectors, where would you place them?
Happy Easter

Q: AAR.UN has been on a nice run in recent weeks. I believe it is expanding its facilities and entering some new geographical areas. What is your outlook on the stock? What catalysts can promote it to be a stock in the 10 - 12 dollar range? What should shareholders be wary of? Thanks.
Q: Hi5i,
Would you have any ETF recommendations in the small to mid cap energy sector.
Thanks Dave

Q: RRX is the only energy stock (0.5%) in my holding. Is this the opportunity to double down on the stock after recent sharp drop or catching a falling knife ? Thank you. Bill
Q: Hello 5i
I plan on shifting a large sum of RRSP monies from my financial planner over to Questrade so i can manage it myself with the guidance of 5i Research of course .
Should i be concerned with the safety of these investments with Questrade in terms of account hacking etc via computer . Do brokerage companies generally have insurances for this type of thing ? I really don't want to be putting myself in a position of high risk unknowingly .
Thanks
Bill

Q: I don't know GSY at all and I am reluctant to invest in their wonderfully performing shares. OTOH , I hate to miss out on a great growth situation .Why do I think of them as a Usury business managing to barely operate within the consumer act ... Perhaps I am wrong . Are they no different than any bank or trust company ... ( except that they rent furniture ???? ) .
Q: Peter,
Your thoughts on this company going forward. I've held it for 6 mos now

Q: Hi peter and Ryan,
I bought into this company in the mid five dollar range. I have been dollar cost averaging ever since and buy shares at the end of the month when I have extra cash to do so. Is this a strategy that will be successful for a 3 to f 5 year time horizon. Thanks.

Q: Hi. I'm doing my taxes. With the split of EFN, I held onto the shares of both EFN and ECN after the split. Do I need to report the disposition of EFN on my income tax? The trading summary from TD indicates a "sale", so I am wondering if CRA will be expecting something. Thanks for all the great work you do!
Q: Question on shares outstanding vs. the share float. You mention in a previous answer that GSY has 60% inside ownership, is there a site that gives this number or are you getting outstanding shares from google and the inside ownership from the annual meeting report? This report would show how many shares the directors currently have. I'm trying to calculate how to buy break a larger buy into pieces and have been using the average daily number of shares traded.
Thank you and Happy Easter.

Q: Hello;
I have full position of ZCL. I would like to take full positions in CCL.B and RPI.UN for 2 to 3 year horizon.
However, all of the above are in packaging industry. Is it advisable to put so much in one industry? Thanks.

Q: Hi, I want to Invest some of my cash outside of Canadian and US markets. I would appreciate if you can suggest a few markets with good valuations and potential. I do not want to pick individual stocks, but instead would buy an ETF.
Thanks

Q: JE.DB.B COMES DUE 2018.SHOULD I CASH IT IN NOW OR KEEPIT FOR MY RIFF?Thanks
Q: I am confused. The 30 day rule for buying a stock you sold only applies to a cash or margin account and only applies to losses not gains on that stock. The 30 day rule doesn't apply in an RRSP, RIF or TFSA account. Is this true? Thanks.
Q: I asked a question on APV Sunday morning and they have now agreed to a higher buyout price, any chance you can cancel that question
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Would it be possible to include whether the dividend of companies that you cover qualify for the dividend tax credit or contain foreign income or return of capital? This information is a lot harder to find on company websites than I thought it would be since I think is quite important information. I appreciate it might be hard to include provide this info for every question asked (thought it would be nice when the question does pertain specifically to the dividend) but the Reports should include it, I think. It may also help to cut down on the number of questions as to which account stocks should be held.
Thank you.

Q: I bot a warrant several years ago for $3.00. It will run out in June of this year and is now worth two cents. Can I do nothing and just this run out or do I have to sell it. Money from the sale will not cover the brokers fee.
Q: Recently a member suggested The Cerbat Gem as a free investment news and recommendations site. May I advise caution as concerns this site.
Yes, they aggregate press releases, broker reports, and trading monitors in an impersonal (robotic?) style, and perhaps this provides a useful service. But there is little to distinguish The Cerbat Gem from (for example) The Stock Rover, Buckeye Business Review, Chaffey Breeze, Rockville Register, The Markets Daily, Community Financial News, Key Gazette, etc., etc., etc. - all of whom print variations on essentially the same information.
Still not put-off? Consider, then, that the site's Omaha, Nebraska street address can't be located via Google maps, and that it shares a Florida phone number with Sports Perspectives (another address-unfindable investment-news site.) Indeed, we might wonder whether its real purpose were to generate webpages which, subsequently, show-up on news-based search results, thereby creating click-bait for the site's endless pop-up ads.
