Q: Hi Team,
TOI has had a rough couple days. Today as of writing down another 5%. At $62 a share today would you consider this a great buy? Is there any news that is making the stock drop extra bad today compared to some other tech stocks that are rallying some today? Also...even though oil is more in favour in todays market, would you consider selling some of either WCP, BTE, or TVE to buy into TOI weakness? And would you consider TOI a better long term hold than an oil stock? Thanks
Shane.

Q: 5I team: From many previous answers with regards to oil stocks I gathered that white cap was rated quite well in the oil sector. Recently I am not so sure. I typically carry something on margin and currently it happens to be white cap . Paid 12.50 per share so today down 4% at this moment and not sure to crystallize a loss. Under my scenario on margin would you advise any other options in same or other sector . Can you advise sell or hold or top choices for replacement? I do own mg, enb, and ntr. and vrif, for diversification.Any thought much appreciated.Tks Larry

Q: Dear 5i,
I currently have an approx. 3% holding in each of these energy stocks in my TFSA; TOU, SU and WCP. Do these three provide reasonable exposure to the energy sector? If there is too much overlap can you suggest which ones I might want to sell. If you think I should add more different types of energy stocks can you suggest ones to add with a 3% weighting. Thanks for all your help.

Q: I hold SU PSK and WCP. I don't want to hold oil and gas in the long term, so want to eventually sell these three stocks. Do you feel this sector will likely perform well through a recession and would you tend to continue to hold them through the next year? Could you suggest a target price for each. Could you suggest what I might replace these with in the alternative energy sector - with dividend. Thank you!

Q: I am thinking of buying these companies in my tfsa account in equal weights. Do you have any concern with any of these companies and would you be able to rank them in order of possible upside? Thank you
Q: 5iteam: For the same price today of about 11$ per share for near term momentum or long term value how would you rank them ? Tks. Larry

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,
Two questions; please deduct credits accordingly.
Question 1 - I plan to sell one ETF (HXS) and two stocks (SJ & TCN) for a tax loss and then buy them back after 30 days. Please suggest proxies for each that I could buy as a replacement for the 30 days. These are held in a margin account.
Question 2 - I own WCP in my RRIF, and find that its volatility is harder for me to handle than I had thought. (Its beta is 3.26). Now that I'm in the black with it, I was thinking of two alternatives; selling WCP and adding to an existing profitable position in TOU (beta = 1.62), or starting a new position in XOM (beta = 1.07). XOM would increase my US exposure which needs to be increased, according to Portfolio Analytics. What's your take on this strategy?
Alternative ideas for each question would be welcome, and as always, thanks for your insight.

Q: Good morning
I am confused...I understand the risk of inflation, war, Covid etc...The demand may be restricted for oil (short-term) but it does not seem to makes sense the volatility in energy when many will be making tremendous cash when oils above $80...TVE, Arc, Whitecap stocks were higher when oil was rising in the $80 range...is this just speculators jumping in and out...would it not be a good time in buy these stocks today as it seems to be quite emotional right now with the rest of the market...any other that you would recommend are being sold without thought of fundamentals?
Thanks

Q: Hi,
BIR, WCP, PEY, CVE, GXE, & ERF have significant gains in my portfolio.
SGY, and HWO on the other hand have laggard in this sector.
I would like your guidance if I should sell any of these at this time or hold. If hold for now, what should I watch out for?

Q: GSY seems to run out of steam in the last year, while WCP seems to have revived in the same period. Do you recommend a switch of GSY to WCP? Thanks.
Q: If I can only own one of those three for 1 to 3 years, which one would give me the best combined return (yield + growth)? Thanks.
Q: Peter; Carbon capture news is all over the news- I know WCP has a large project in Saskatchewan. Do these projects make money and if so is it enough to move the bottom line? Thanks. Rod
Q: Years ago I bought CJ at $4.20 and recently sold it when it reached that price again. Obviously, a mistake as it is now $7.72. I own WCP and VET which are now back to my original purchase price.
What do I do ? The oil and gas sector is cyclical and I wish to exit this sector as am retired and rely on a safer higher dividend portfolio but do not want to repeat selling these too early. Do I follow analysis target price and /or other metrics, or do I just bail out , happy to get my money back? Thanks .
Derek
