Q: Good morning, Please comment on Versabank's recent quarter. Also, how does their forward PE compare to similar companies and the big banks? They now have a book vallue of $9.98 vs, stock value around $7.30, why the gap? Also, any thoughts on their new initiatives, specifically Versa Vault. I know you removed this from the growth portfolio early this year, do you think you would put it back in based on growing divvy and new initiatives?
Thanks
Rob

Q: Much like KL's acquisition of Detour Gold, it doesn't seem that investors like Sun Life's arrangement with its subsidiary, Sun Life Vietnam Insurance and Tien Phong Commercial Bank (TPBank) which have formed a 15-year bancassurance partnership in Vietnam .
The agreement combines TPBank's distribution network with Sun Life Vietnam's market-leading life insurance products, giving 2.5 million TPBank customers access to a comprehensive range of innovative insurance solutions.

May I have your thoughts on the share price drop? Short term? Perhaps a switch to MFC is in order.

Thank you

Q: I have read that Canadian banks this week are gearing up to report their slowest annual earnings growth since the global financial crisis.
Do you anticipate a negative market response to my holdings listed above? With all 3 at 52-wk highs, how would you rank them for a continued "Hold"?

Q: Hi 5i,
I have owned laurentian bank for 2 years and currently down 20% on initial purchase of a full position. It’s is held in tax free account and no additional funds to average down. Would it make sense to sell this stock and direct proceeds to other financials even though it pays a nice dividend. If so what would u recommend?
In your opinion Does it have any chance to recover or has this just become a lost opportunity and better to move on?
Thx

Q: Andrew McCreath mentioned TD's large position in the Ameritrade deal this morning and expected TD to come out 3% to 5% higher. It didn't just up a little less than 1%. Is there an opportunity here ? Adding a third bank to my portfolio would bring financials up to around 10-12 % depending on how much I bought which wouldn't break my heart anyway......... Thank you for your great service.

Q: I have POW in my TFSA and though it lacks any growth the dividend yield is ok. Wondering if I should think about a switch to IFC to get a bit more growth, though that will reduce the dividend.

(I am recently retired; no DB plan but hopefully more than sufficient assets to see me through to a ripe old age.)

Q: The company continues to put it steady results and recently completed a private placement at 56 cents.
They have announced a 1 for 8 consolidation along with the initiation of a dividend.
The last reported NAV was 53 cents.
Management is very strong and experienced.
What is your view of the investment merits at current levels?

Q: Hi, I sent a question, a day or two ago about MSI, if it got lost in transit. I had sought your opinion to start a 2% position at current levels, as we wish to own a company in the sector ( do not own PEO). MSI has made some some recent good US acquisitions and appears to have a solid growth trajectory, besides paying a decent dividend. It peeked our interest when we noticed it among your favourites for 5i portfolio, in one of recent posts. Thank You

Q: I see CXI has fallen by 5% on 300 traded shares today. I managed to sell some way back to get it to a less interesting level. Not disinterested enough it turns out but I am willing to hold into next year. In value (as a trap or otherwise) WR to earnings (and growth) do you see a productive future for the company? I believe you liked management at one point. I have plenty of growth type stocks.

Thanks so much!
