Q: Just a general question re a company's market cap. When a company's stock rises dramatically and the shares are bought and sold in the secondary market, how does a company become more valuable and richer even though they don't receive any of the proceeds, since i would think it wouldn't affect the bottom line, thanks??

Q: Hi 5i,

The Gold price is doing pretty well. Metalla recently stopped paying their dividend (re: Covid is the reason stated on their web site).

Can you comment on the companies fundamentals, recommmendations to hold moving forward and the chances they will reinstate the dividend. Thanks !

Q: You recently mentioned that "the spin out of Topicus is a dividend-in-kind. Shareholders will receive 1.85 shares of Topicus for each share of CSU held. The price of CSU will drop a bit on the ex dividend date to reflect the value of the new shares to be received." From a tax perspective, what does this mean? Is the entire BV of the Topicus shares that are spun out treated as a dividend and benefit from the cnd dividend tax credit and the BV of the CSU shares drops by the same amount?

Q: Further to my question on Oct 20 regarding switching from stocks to a more passive investing into ETF's that someone with little knowledge of investing could manage. I was wondering why you did not mention ETF's such as ZEB-banks, ZUT-utilities, ZIN-industrials, telecoms, bonds etc that would cover the different market segments. The dividends appear to be within the 4% range. Based on this would you recommend this type of etf and if so which etfs would you recommend for each of the Canadian market segments. Do you have any concerns re this strategy.

PBW and TAN seem to be getting hit today on the order of 5%. Is there something happening in the clean energy space to cause these declines or do you see this as regular volitlity?
