Q: I have very little invested outside of Canada and would like to increase foreign investments. What are the tax ramifications if any, of investing in index funds such as Vanguard or Ishares in a taxable account? I suspect that there may be a withholding tax.

Q: I am wondering if the current bull market has a lot to do with new investors coming into the market. As it becomes cheaper and easier to invest, and the importance of utilizing TSFA's becomes more apparent, it seems to me more and more people are opening TSFA's and buying stocks. As volumes increase does that not necessitate higher valuations in general?

Q: These receipts were issued at $31 and are now trading around $29, if the deal with WGL doesn't go close you get your $31 back. If it does close you get a share of ALA 1 for 1 for $31, in the meantime you get the same dividend as ALA which they just increased. What's the downside if any. The deal is supposed to close approx. in Q2 of 2018.

Q: I have heard a lot of buzz about Block Chain technology recently and while it is a speculative technology, it appears to be building traction for use in commercial markets (i.e. B2B and/or B2C usage). What are your thoughts on this (aside from being a high risk investment) and who are some leading companies in this space (either CDN or US) that are focused on developing Block Chain technology/platforms?
