Q: The Bank of Canada hiked their policy rate 50 bp's today - will this be priced in to Fixed Income instruments (GIC's/Bonds/TBills etc) immediately or would it have already been priced in in anticipation.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hi 5i,
In your answer to a question on December 1st, where it was about your interview with Kornel Szejber of Build Wealth Canada, you included in the list of stocks to buy and forget, Suncor stock. Was this a typo? Despite all its intrinsic qualities, SU is in such a cyclical and volatile sector, where companies have so little control over their destiny. If it wasn't a mistake, could you elaborate a bit on this choice?
And simply, does the recent decline of the stock make it a good entry point?
Thank you very much.

Q: I am new to the forum and 5I. Thanks for your great information! I wish I had subscribed earlier.
Can you give me a long term chart on the value and or return for these 2 ETFs? Because of the different dividends it is hard for me to value the two investments. Do you have a preference?
Thanks again
Richard

Q: Seems to me that the market must be offering up some strong, well run companies that, for some strange reason, are trading at much lower prices than what they deserve. These kinds companies pay a good dividend, have a strong balance sheet and their forward earnings look good and dependable. (perhaps you call these kinds of companies 'value' companies). Anway, here's my question, I would like to begin investing in them and would appreciate your opinion on a number of these value companies that I should consider adding to my portfolio. Perhaps 6 Canadian and 6 American. Thanks as always for your appreciated opinion.
Q: Hi,
Recently you added ADN to the Income portfolio. In order to incorporate the 2% position that you use, it will mean a substantial purchase. After review, it seems that ADN does not trade in significant volumes to allow a reasonable market price. That said, how does ADN maintain the dividend when its free cash flow is exceeded by the dividend payout on a consistent basis? Am I missing something?

Q: Hi, Can I get your thoughts on the materials sector and some of these companies? With China potentially opening up in 23 and this industry taking a downturn with these companies down approx 20% . This would seem a good time to start nibbling on these companies.
Q: Question about Veeva Systems.
From prior responses, it aligned with right now having a high valuation even after the past years negative performance. Is this a good entry point? This has been on my watchlist for years now and each time I look at it, the valuation is too expensive. But with the recent drop is this a good entry point or do you think the market is signalling that growth is slowing down?

Q: Hello 5I,
would you consider Guru (the beverage company) and CARG (Car Guru) buys at this time? Seems like GURU could be tempting to make it private... Would you consider this a possibility?
Thank you, Merry Christmas

As for the other 3, I do not intend to buy proxies however I would consider repurchasing after 30 days. Do you suggest proxies for these 3? Also, would you repurchase. Thank you.
Q: Hello dear 5i,
I have a question that may seem silly. Here it is. When you talk about Shopify, you often talk about duopoly, but I can't find with whom they are, even by searching assiduously on the net.
thanks

Q: One of your subscribers said this in a question answered today, "I own 500 shares of TOU. Because I bought them a couple years ago and trimmed as they rose, my dollar cost average on these shares is zero!!" Is dollar cost average different from book value and if it is not, how does it go to zero?
Q: What do you think of a switch from eglx to Ese? All lot seems to be going right for Ese lately.
