Q: In the past year, INK Reports show company officer and director insider net selling activity levels for AEM, AGI, PGM and WDO are significantly higher than levels for KL and MMX. I realize there are many reasons why insiders might decide to sell, but is it a red flag for investors when net selling activity reaches the levels exhibited by company officers and directors of AEM, AGI, PGM and WDO?

Q: Hello 5i Team,
Recently my sister and brother-in-law sold their restaurant business. They are both in their early 50's. They've been working hard for 30 years and don't have many investments other than a few mutual funds. They would be conservative investors, so, mostly dividend growers. If you were recommending someone starting a portfolio of 15-20 names to build a foundation on; which companies would they be?

Q: Mcld just announced a nice contract with the Alberta government. I was expecting QST to have such a contract. Do they compete with each other ??

Q: In your last weekly update there was an article that talked about a potential fraud in Bitcoin trading. The fraud is with trading platforms that use Tethers. Can you please give me your comments on this article? Is it possible that Tethers used in trading bitcoin do not have the value that Tether claims? Any and all comments are welcome.

Q: I often see small trades in securities - just a few shares or so. Do traders/investors make small purchases - either up or down - to give others the impression a stock is either rising or falling? If so how widespread is this practice and how effective is it?

Q: Good morning. Some time ago I bought AMCI (a SPAC) in anticipation of its merger with Advent Technologies. That merger has now happened and Advent is now trading as of today in the US with the symbol ADN. Will my broker (RBC DI) automatically change my shares from AMCI to ADN? So far nothing has happened. I know I could ask RBC but the wait times are over an hour! Thanks.

I am interested in picking up some shares of FLT.CA for the longer term (3-5yrs). Can you tell me what you think about the company? I understand that they are doing some testing for Air Canada? Q: I know about covered calls and possible loss of capital gains but at a 11.4% dividend I think it makes up for it. Life insurance companies should be safe and the 5 year chart looks enticing . Knowing that the underlying dividends would be around 4 to 5 % they are earning a lot for the calls, is this sustainable or am I missing something here.

Q: AVL has been doing extremely well recently and I’d like to know if you think its performance is likely to continue, and what you think about it in general. As of Feb 3rd, it’s 20 cents a share. Do you see it ever getting near its 2011 peak of $9 again?

Also wondering if you could comment briefly on the outlook for CIT, a financial name in the USA. Thanks.
