Q: Just read a piece in FP on the option market and TSLA which appears to be an iceberg. While I have worried about TSLA and what it might do to the market should it crash it appears like I have missed an even larger worry. Is a TSLA failure capable of being a black swan event for the market as a whole?

Q: When you refer to a " long term holding period ", can you be more specific to the time period in years? The reason I ask is some of the research I have done on Morningstar referrs to greater than 9 months as long term. Thank you.

Q: They're are 7 analysts following this stock with an average of 12.45 12 months out. Does it have any chance to doing this. Do they get these targets on a perfect scenario because it seems far fetched to me. What does 5i have as a target price.

Q: What do you think is going on with the Canadian tech sector? Today is a perfect example with US tech companies climbing (not surprising given that the NASDAQ is up 250 points) while the vast majority of Canadian companies remain in the red (eg. AT, STC, CTS, LSPD, SHOP, TOI, CGY). I appreciate that our companies (less SHOP) are much smaller but something doesn't seem quite right here. Could it be that short positions have been opened up by international investors against the entire sector?

Q: Wow, really getting pummeled today. I was searching to see if there was news re a financing tied to the acquisition announced today, but couldn't find anything. Any news out there that you can see which could be contributing to today's drop. Seems the wind coming out of TFII sails lately.

Q: Hi 5i,

I'm new to the service and joined with the hope of finding an unbiased second opinion on my portfolio of stocks. I had the good fortune of purchasing in my TFSA SHOP ($1200); LSPD ($26.31); SE ($149); MELI ($769.45) and continue to hold. This year, not so good, I had purchased REAL ($18.16); ABST ($13.79); AT ($10.36) which with the exception of MX are all currently in the red.

My problem is that given my current YTD is at -13% I should probably shake up the TFSA. However, when I look at each stock individually I just can't bring myself to sell, I love the growth potential of them all.

I'm (obviously) ok with volatility in my portfolio and I do not anticipate needing the funds for 3+ years. I would appreciate your thoughts or ranking of these stocks in terms of growth potential from this point forward. Are there better stock opportunities I should consider out there for my TFSA ?

In general I follow 5i Balance Equity Portfolio. Lately, I went through comparing my portfolio to 5i Balance portfolio I found that I have to add the following stocks BDGI,PKI and SHOP and I am under weight on AEM,ATD,ATZ,BAM.A,CCL, ENB,TFII. Can you please advise in order which stock consider a good buy at this time.
Also, Can you please advise good buying stocks from the Growth Portfolio.

Could you recommend 5 of your favourite stocks (US or CDN) that provide a healthy mix of dividend yield and growth outlook?

This would be for a Smith Maneuvre with interest rate at 2.95%. Ideal scenario would be to get yield to be at 3% with some growth outlook on a 5 year time horizon.
