Q: I'm interested in starting positions in companies involved in the push to a more energy efficient future. I've had a look at CCO AND ALB and I'd appreciate your opinion as to which one is the better choice currently. Also, is it too early to be taking positions in these sectors or are these companies capable of strong capital gains in the next year or two? Finally, do you think there are better companies to invest in in these sectors?

Q: With the Coastal Gas Link pipeline getting close to completion. Which energy companies would be prime beneficiaries?

On a related energy question, when is the Trans Mountain pipeline expected to be completed and are there any energy companies who stand to benefit the most? Will this pipeline help close the gap in price with WTI?

Q: Peter,

There seems to be some love returning to the beleagured Canadian small/micro cap stocks. Given how much they have declined, it looks like there is decent upside if the recovery continues.

On this note, do you see STC as a name that has not yet joined the party (with PAY, NVEI, LSPD, DTOL, DCBO, etc., already on the move) and has some decent potential here?

What would be your top three picks in this space at this time?

Thanks for your outstanding service,

David

Q: Peter; The perennial “ bear”, aka Rosenberg, basically just trashed the BOC last rate bump, saying the 2% level , they want is there. Could you comment on whether you agree or don’t and why ? Thanks.

Q: These covered call, leveraged ETFs seem to be very popular right now. Fees seem to be high in general on these funds, 2-2.5%. Horizon just introduced a suite of ETFs including the above 2 which I am interested in. They are funds of their own funds and usually products like this waive the management fee of the underlying fund. Do you know if this is the case for these 2?
I’m hoping Horizons large scale will allow them to keep their fees under control.
