Q: Hi Team, Canaccord's reset preferred has been reset at the following rates: fixed 5 year = 3.8850% the variable rate is at 3.722%. Given that the spread between the 5 year Gov't and the 3 month Tbill is narrow at .163% Is it logic at this point in time to take a chance and convert from the fixed rate preferred to the variable rate preferred? If interest rates do go up will the variable reset out perform the fixed rate preferred?
Cheers David

Q: I recently added a small position in CHW primarily for the nice yield and low PE valuation and low payout ratio. I also like their US focus. The stock price is up nicely since I added and I was thinking of adding to it or starting a position in CBL. I am a long term investor (10+ years time horizon). Would you have a preference of one over the other?
Thanks

Q: In late July 2015 CSU peaked intraday just below $600. I sold at $574 reaping a lovely almost 500% gain. The stock bottomed just below $450 in Feb 16 and has been lurching higher since, then going on a $45 tear in the last two weeks.

Two questions:

1. Any reason you can see for the recent tear?

2. As the stock again re-approaches its all time high, and knowing you have been a longtime supporter, what are your views on the company and the stock at these levels?

Thanks

Kim

Q: Hello Peter and 5i team,
Our sector percentage in the consumer staples space is a low weighting , having only ATD.B. We would like to add one small cap and one large cap. In the small cap space we like PBH. Is it a good time to enter this sector now and what is your favourite large cap?
thank you as always for your opinion.

Q: Greetings gentlemen

I like very much what is going on with both TOY and ZZZ. Between the two, for a TFSA with a time horizon of 3 - 5 years, which would you prefer? I am retired and have no immediate need to draw on the account. My cash account is where I keep my dividend stocks and safety-oriented investments.

Thanks

Q: I will be unable to attend the Money Show on September 16-17, as I have a continuing education course on the 16th (which allows me to make the money to invest so I can belong to a forum like 5i to gain insight on how to invest it more profitably), and my son's birthday (who is one of the people I am saving and investing for) on the 17th, but I am still very interested in the discussions that Peter Hodson will be facilitating/conducting. Is there any way that 5i could either post video or a transcript of the sessions on the 5i website for interested members? I would venture that I would not be the only member to have an interest in this, should this be possible. Thanks so much!

Q: I am wondering which two from the list above I should add. I am a long term investor who typically buys and holds for 5-10 years or longer (basically until the fundamentals change). I am 40 years old with a 70/30 stocks/bonds split and I hold emerging markets etc. in the recommended amounts. I am just looking to add two high quality names for the long term here to add to my existing equity portion. Thanks.
