Q: Happy new years to you guys at 5iresearch!!! I hold positions in all of these and they have been dogs for about a year now. I am a fairly long term investor and I am wondering when I am going to see some up side to these as the oil sector seems to be recovering. Or would you suggest to let them go? Thanks for your time

Q: I have a small amount of cash in my TFSA as a result of dividend income. I have less than a full position in the above companies either as a result of smaller purchases or because they have dropped since purchase. (HWO) Which of the above would you add to? Thank you, Rod
Q: At the beginning of each year I like to invest in my tfsa first as I feel its the best investment vehicle I have. But my portfolio is very Canada heavy due to some selling at the end of the year. So I have a bit of dilemma in that I have funded my tfsa but the stocks I'd like to buy are american for diversification reasons. I do have a few Canadian stocks I'd like to buy but it will only add to my lack of geographic diversification. But I know my tfsa is not the best location for US stocks from a tax efficiency point of view. So my question is, what do you think is more important? Adding geographic diversification right away (buy a US stock in my tfsa) or the tax efficiency of my portfolio (Buy Canadian Growth and buy US later in the year).
Q: For growth and maximum return in a TFSA, would you suggest BCE with the good dividend or ATD.B as the riskier but more to gain investment? I know you don't have a crystal ball but based on your best research? Thanks
Q: Hi, if you had to let one of the above go tomorrow to free up a bit of cash, which one would you choose?
Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
Happy New Year and thanks again for the great service. I own SPE and my average price was around current price, Spe doesn’t seem to go above $7.50, is it fully valued at $7.50, I am thinking to switch out to GUD and LUN , could I have your opinion please, thanks.

Q: What do you think of this stock moving forward? They seem to be gaining a bit of traction lately with their SAAS Elevate platform - Announcing a few contracts recently.
What portion of their share price is supported by cash? I'm thinking about putting some speculative money into it. Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I would like to purchase two ETFs. One for developed Europe and the other for Emerging Markets. I would use US$ for these purchases. Please advise your top pick for each category. And what is the minimum portfolio percentage to make these purchases meaningful? Thanks.

Q: A very hearty thanks to 5i. I am up a total of 16.3% in 2017, well above the TSX.
I hold all the equities in your model Balanced Equity portfolio (although not in the same weightings). I also have a 5% holding in ZLB which has done reasonably well for me (up 72% since Sept. 20, 2013) but since I already have most of my portfolio in Canada, I was thinking I should switch it to a foreign ETF. I am currently have small holding of ZUE at 3.5% of total, ZDM at3.2% and VEE at 2.9%, all three totaling just under 10%.
Would you agree with switching ZLB and into which ETF if so. Or would you have other suggestions. I am not particularly afraid of volatility as long as the investments are solid.

Q: Hey I am considering adding ZUQ to my TFSA for growth to compliment some US dividend ETF's that I hold and ZIN to a non registered account for capital appreciation. Any concerns with either of these ETF's and this strategy for future growth?
Q: Re; electric vehicle batteries and investing in related companies, along with lithium and cobalt -- looking for a way to make money in this space and not doing well with my own research efforts. Any thoughts/advise.......... "Thanks"!
Q: I am looking for a good EFF that will cover off the growth in Electric Vehicles - Long term hold - What is your recommendation
Q: I am looking for income and was wondering what the risks are in covered call ETFs. I am looking at ZWB and ZWU. Would they fare better in a market correction than pure ultility or bank stock ETFs?
Q: Happy New Year and again thanks for everything in 2017.
I was wondering if you could give me your analysis of BYL. It has been moving steadily upwards over the past couple of months. Does it still have room to move up. 7 % drop today?
Thanks
Dave.
