Q: I have a 5% holding of TRP in my income orientated non registered account , now at a 10% loss. I have a tendency to hold on to declining stocks for too long. Spin outs complicate my fairly
concentrated portfolio used to fund my retirement. What do you expect share price reaction to be over the period until spin out ? Any ideas on replacement ? I want to stay away from energy infrastructure and already own BEPC.

Q: Any update on this one? I see 5 analysts all with strong buy and a $17 USD price target, representing pretty good upside. I've owned it long enough to be down 36% and while I like it, there does seem to be a lot of other fish in the proverbial sea these days where my $ might be better.

If I hold, how much longer do I give them?

Q: Hi 5i,
I hope you might help with my education ...
I have trouble getting my mind around the concept and basis for owning hedged vs unhedged. I know it has to do with currency valuations but beyond that I'm afraid I don't really understand it.
As a real world example to work off, I've owned TXF (the hedged version) for a long time and have noticed that it's pretty consistently been out-performed by its unhedged counterpart, TXF.B. I bought some TXF.B thinking to at least even things up and ironically since then the hedged version has been doing somewhat better.
My problem is that I really don't understand the mechanics of how it works, and why hedged is better in some circumstances but not in others - and even what those circumstances are.
I know hedging is something i should understand better, and I hope you can give me a primer, even though it's likely a pretty basic concept and also likely not that difficult to understand. I just seem to have a block and don't feel like I've grasped the concept or the important factors to consider when thinking about it.

Q: Hello,
I'm thinking of adding HHL.b but concerned with the very low trading volume. If you compare volume of HHL to HHL.b, there is marked difference or improvement with HHL and higher volume. Question - is there actual market trading of HHL.b or perhaps might this be an internal currency conversion within Harvest ETF's. Hope this is clear, any feedback or explanation on why there is such a delta between the two ETF's trading volume would be appreciated.

Q: Hello,

There hasn't been a question on this company since 2021 - can I get your updated opinion of it? They just reported earnings this week and beat EPS estimates.

For a portfolio light on industrials, would you recommend it? If not, can you list a few industrials that you consider better - US or CDN.

Q: I am working with my son (age under 50) to help him put together a stock portfolio. Considering that the US and Canadian markets have significantly different sector weightings what would you recommend for reasonable diversification in a growth weighted portfolio? I thought you had dealt with this type of question a number of times before but haven't found previous responses.
