Q: Is this a good entry point for Veresen? Tx
Q: Hi Peter and Team, I know that Peyto is one of your top choice in the energy sector. How do you explain that Peyto stock has decreased by about 12% over the last 6 months? Vermilion has increased by about 40% during the exact same period. Am I missing something here? Thank you, Gervais
Q: Income investments - preferred shares
On Jan 4, you posted an answer for an income investor, expressing approval of ZPR (BMO Laddered Preferred Share Index ETF). I am somewhat cynical about preferred shares, their being subject to the interest rate sensitivity of bonds, lacking the upside of common stock and generally lacking a fixed redemption date or any other assurance of capital preservation. I wonder whether, even on a reset date, they would necessarily trade at their face value. If I am right, I can't understand in what circumstances they would be suitable (without fixed redemption or as an interest-rate play with a high coupon). What am I missing?

Q: What's up with Open Text ? Share split ?
Q: RPI.un, WPK and Bemis/N have all been treading water and relative strength has faltered for at least six months also. Do you have any concerns such as input costs from energy, etc. or end-markets for Richard's specifically? Thanks.
Q: Some economists argue that as debt to GDP ratio rises, it reaches a certain point when further fiscal stimulus will have little effect. Debt can be measured as Government Debt or Total debt (Government, Corporate and Individual). David Rosenberg in his New Year musings about the way things might be going in 2017, (a rare freebie for cheapies like me who don't pay for his missives) uses nonfinancial debt. How is "nonfinancial debt" defined, pray? Happy New Year and many thanks for your help again. Henry
Q: Happy New Year to the 5i team! I was checking out Photon Control on my TD Waterhouse site, in particular the insider trading and am curious as to why the directors' holdings fell from about 13 million shares to 3 1/2 million last August/2016. Also, in the 10% holders group, the number of shares held went from 0 to 100 million then down to 10 million all in the month of November/16. Also the INK insider trading report shows net selling as around $1,600,000. First of all are these numbers accurate and secondly can you explain the large swings in insider ownership. Thanks.
Q: Looks to me like one trade bought around 330,000 shares today at 4.40. Kind of unusual. Any ideas on what, if anything, might be going on?
Q: Happy New Year Every One!
Has CSU become the steady Eddie already or do you expect it to pop and surpuse $700 in 2017?
All the best to you and your families in 2017!

Q: I own stock in this company in my TFSA and since they pay there dividends in US dollars, how will the dividends be treated when it comes to Revenue Canada. Or are the dividends converted to Canadian dollars before I receive them?
Q: It appears that ACQ might break out of its last year range. You indicated that the growth expectation is lower now. Would you still recommend it above $25.
Thank you for your great service.

Q: I have held this since about 13 dollars. It is now at 20 and am wondering what you think the risks are with continuing to hold (about 2 % of my portfolio)this stock. The dividend is very good and the company states that is still looking to take it private. Some believe the stock is worth around 24 dollars. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks
