Q: I split a full position between these 2 recently. I was wondering if you preferred one to the other and if so, for what reasons?

Q: According to the efficient markets theory, a stock should reflect all publicly known information about a company. Given the advances in AI, technical analysis, computerized trading, etc., under what circumstances do you see individual investors being able to beat the markets, or more specifically, being able to beat the computers?
Are there specific types of stocks, or specific market conditions or circumstances, where individual investors have an advantage over computers? Under what circumstances is it better for an individual to hold a diversified basket of ETFs as opposed to individual stocks?
Are you aware of any research in this regard?
Many thanks for your excellent advice, and for this wonderful service!

Q: I also have to reduce my weighting in SHOP, but what I am doing is donating the shares to a charity and adding the cash that I was going to donate to my portfolio.

Q: Hi,
I'm looking for income and hopefully a little growth as well. I currently own GRT/UN.TO, CAR/UN.TO and have some of DRG/UN.TO from before the buyout. Would you be able to rate these choices in order of preference? What % weight would you recommend for this sector at the moment, and do you foresee that weighting being changed as we head into Q1 next year? These will be held in a cash account, so should I be considering the potential tax implications? Deduct as many credits as you need. Thanks for all your hard work,
Dawn

Q: Could you please give your current opinion on blockchain companies in general? Is it too early to invest in a basket of companies with this future theme? Are there any companies you are interested in at this time?

Q: Gentlemen; Lightspeed has disappointed me (-22%) and causes me to wonder if my patience is misplaced. Would I be better taking my loss and moving on or wait for some good news?
Q: Hi,
I was looking through past questions that you have answered on PTQ and note the following comment.
"It is a US company listed in Canada, which can raise some red flags..."
Could you explain what the red flags would be? Thanks.

Q: Any reason your team is aware of why ECN has surged 10% the last few days? Seems a bit out of the norm.
Q: Hi,
With Boyd becoming a corporation on January 01, 2020, will it be required to provide more disclosure as to acquisitions, etc. I note that previously, that it is very muted in press releasing ongoing changes in the business or to even comment on quarterly results.
Thanks,
Kelly

Q: Once again I have to contemplate reducing my weight in SHOP as it is again at a 10% weight. (Okay I understand this is a good problem to have.) I reduced shop before a few months ago and I find myself regretting it. A couple of years ago I reduced my CSU weight by 75% at $700 in order to stick to a lower risk portfolio theme and have a proper weighting, and yes I really regret that (now that it basks in the $1,400 range). Both these stocks I have a really strong belief in, as I know you do. I guess my question is, should not balancing be tempered by the confidence in the stock? I mean one of the reasons I go diy is because I believe no advisor can take a big risk on my behalf in good conscience yet it might be one that I would be willing to take for myself, hence no advisor. As you say, any stock can go down 50% (in a day even), but really, CSU and SHOP? My total portfolio is otherwise pretty well diversified. Am I being completely reckless here by not divesting some of SHOP or do you think that this falls under your concept of one's personal preference realm? Again, thank you for all your help.
Q: No debt, generating strong cash flow. Any specific reason for -7% today? Thank you
Q: They announced a financing today for new units of the fund. I hold a position in this reit and have room for more units. The issue price is lower than stock price when the stock was halted today. I never have bought new issues before. Do you view this as a good move to subscribe to for me to add to my position?
Q: What Silicon Valley companies could have deep enough pockets to afford a $70 U.S. Billion takeover of Shopify? By my reckoning this is $580 U.S. a share or $765 C$ correct?
Q: Today announced that Blockchain-enabled lightspeed Restaurant epos launches in UK,Your comment please Thanks for u usual services & views.
Q: Hi 5i team,
Like many here, I follow the 5G theme, but there is a proliferation of participants in many facets of the technology. I own KEYS and am happy there. About a year ago, I put INSG on my watch lists. It has been dormant since then but now seems to be breaking out. I don’t see any real catalysts as such. It missed its last earnings report, but I have read some positive reviews on its 5G prospects for hot spots and SaaS. It is a smaller name and I am unlikely to buy it but I was curious as to your thoughts on it.
Thanks again for the insight.

Q: I bought a bond from S in 2015 that originally was to mature in 2018, but unfortunately was extended to 2021. In the meantime I have a 56% paper loss. I saw today that S stock price is at $0.18(!). Is there a more than likely chance that Sherritt will go under and if so, is there a way to estimate how much of my principal I can get back? Should I just sell this bond even if it’s in my RRSP? Thanks, Martin
Q: comments please on the quarter?
