Q: re your advice to Paul yesterday to tender to the offer through a broker
Is there a difference if I sell directly online or do I need to speak with a broker.

Q: Reviewing my portfolio at this time of year,i have decided to take a more defensive approach for 2018.I have recently purchased a couple of gold stocks(aem & lk).I am unsure if gold still has the downside protection for a portfolio that it used to.
Also with the expected interest rate increases will dividend paying large caps have the desired benefit of portfolio protection?
Do you have any suggestions on some debt free dividend paying companies that will do well in a flat or slightly down market.I don't care if they are small,medium or large cap companies!

Q: Hello 5i,
I sold off NVDA when valuations exploded and didn’t like all the hype around the stock.
I’m guessing with SQ mentioning crypto-currency the stock will pop today. If anyone can make sense of crypto it’s probably Dorsey with his calm approach to building businesses (I’m still gettting my head around hash 256!)
Even with Dorsey as bench strength for Square should I sell some of this one off and top up ICHR where I’m down about 20%? Or sell ICHR and consolidate my SQ position? Both positions are held in a sheltered account.

Q: In a recent reply to a question about DR, you concluded with a sentence:
'This makes it tough to have a whole lot of confidence on the potential cash flows.'
Could you please expand on this as it sounds like you are 'forecasting' a future drop in earnings / cash flow? Can you share any evidence you have that would support this view?

Q: Your comments on the year end & quarter's results for Madalena Energy would be appreciated.Were they good enough to suggest keeping it or bad enough to suggest selling ?They had a hit on 2 wells with total output of 250 b/p/d. Does this make them more viable or does the political climate in Argentina cancel this out?
