Surge Energy, it is more of an oil play or a natural gas play. Do you see upside on Surge Energy as the current events is driving up energy cost. Also, the market is bullish on natural gas, do you agree.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
I'm considering selling Apple at a large profit and deploying elsewhere.
I want to offset some gains with some losses.
Losers in order are:
DRX
SGY
BCE (small amount held in my non-reg)
Selling all is fine with me so I can balance out my Apple gains. What do you think about selling these names and what are a couple of your favourite US and CAD stock for new money?
Q: I have only ENB in energy stocks and am looking to add a basket of stocks with at least a 5% dividend, but also looking for capital appreciation. With the dividend, I don't mind waiting for the appreciation. Do you see any red flags with any of these, and how would you make up a 5% position? Would you sub any other energy stock with a 5%+ dividend?
Q: Your thoughts please on the quarter. When I read the press release it reinforces what Peter just wrote about in his blog about salespeople promoting their company.
Q: hi folks, can you please comment on the update given by Surge energy sgy/t....$37M asset sale, paydown in debt, etc.....would U view as positive???, & rate as Buy/Hold/Sell.....stock has been a real laggard for me....thx as always, jb
Q: hi folks....opinion/thoughts on Q1 results for Surge energy Sgy/t.....net loss & lots of reasons by management.....do you have faith in management, and would you rate the stock going forward....Buy/Hold/Sell......thanks as always, jb
Q: What is the breakdown of their business model, meaning it is an oil play company or a natural gas company. Also is the dividend payout sustainable. When can the company start hitting their debt target to start buying back their stocks like the other oil and gas companies.
Q: With the prices of some oil stocks down significantly in the past 6 months, do you think that some of the larger companies (SU, CNQ, etc) would want to take over some of the smaller players at a nice discount? A bit speculative, but can you identify some of the smaller takeover candidates?
Q: I own these energy stocks and some are on the plus side and others are on the losing side. I've been waiting for quite some time for the Chinese economy to take off, but it seems to go nowhere ? I would like to trim some of my holdings. Please place them in order of what you would keep down to some you would let go. Maybe you could code them as 10 being the best and 1 as being the worst. Thanks.
