Q: My question is about ARRY. I know the company is out of your wheel-house, but wondering if you have any opinions on them. Should I do some profit-taking or hold for the longer term. Friday seemed like a bad day for the stock for whatever reason, but this is not a reaction to that.

Q: I'm trying to get my wife's rrsp some international exposure with an ETF that pays a decent dividend for income.Aside from it's small size[ 11.42 M ] but a nice 6.02% div, is there any down side in your view. If so, your alternatives? It currently has XHY and 22 other income and some growth stocks each about equally weighted.
Secondly, a suggested CDN ETF with US large cap/financial exposure that as pays a 3+ % div.

Q: Hello 5i, the only US stock I own is NVidia. I'm trying to decide between two ETfs: VFV or IWO. I know you have recommended IWO before. Or should I own both of them?
Thanks for your advice!

Q: Any U.S. stocks you like for dividend?
Q: Could i have your opinion on Vail Resorts, looks like a great qtr., still a good buy at today's price?
Q: I have a small position in MU ... less than 1%.
It's up about 50% since I purchased about 8 months ago.
I'm concerned that as semiconductor prices are increasing, there may be increased production from other competitors and that the market may become oversupplied.
Should I hold on or is the stock becoming long in the tooth .. in which case should I sell?

Q: Good morning.
My questions in pertaining these 2 high risk and volatile stocks that I currently hold: Photon Control--pho (4% position) and Synergy Pharmaceutical--sgyp (7% position). Both have come down and I was wondering if you would add to each. I have somewhat of high risk, high potential reward tolerance and 1 to 2 yr wait and see timeline. Thx

Q: In anticipation of Peter's 2017 prediction that "the markets will take a huge dip sometime in 2017" (financial post article dec 29 2016), can I ask for 5 Canadian and 5 American stocks to look for that are fundamentally good, (not in debt, growing earnings and leaders in there industry), sectors are irrelevant.

Q: Hi 5i,
I have ORACLE stock in a Basic Securities Account with Morgan Stanley (I used to work for Oracle Corp. in Canada), and now I want to move the stocks and/or funds from the US to Canada, and I have some questions:
Are there any tax implications for me to move the investments from the US to Canada, either on the US side, the Canadian side, or both?
Are there different tax implications if I move the investments as stock-in-kind, vs cashing them out in the US and moving cash?
Thanks

Q: What's is your view on buying shares in this company. there prices are all over the map the last couple days, it really hard to follow what's going on with them right now
Q: I've held Cynosure (CYNO) for a few years and it recently received an all cash offer for $66 a share; however, now some law firm has come out questioning "whether the Company’s Board of Directors failed to satisfy their duties to shareholders, including whether the Board adequately pursued alternatives to the acquisition and whether the Board obtained the best price possible for the Company’s shares of common stock."
The stock went has high as $66.65 on the news but is currently hovering just above $66.
In these types of situations does this often result in a higher offer? I am tempted to hold and see what happens if there is essentially no risk but I would also like to sell now to get the cash. What would you do?

Q: Hi Peter et al
I’m overweight in the technology sector due to significant growth (20% of portfolio) and am thinking of trimming. I currently have ENGH, CSU, AAPL, NVDA and GOOG in fairly equal weighting. I’m not sure whether to sell one of these outright, or just trim one or two back. I’d appreciate your thoughts. With the proceeds, I am considering adding CGNX to my Industrials, which currently includes SIS, WSP and NFI. Do you think CGNX would be a good addition, or can you suggest another CDN or U.S. stock to add in this sector? Thanks so much!

Q: Is there an ETF where I can gain an unheadged exposure to the US Financial System? Is this a better plan then taking small positions in each of BAC, WFC and a smaller regional bank? Can you recommend a regional bank in the US with a decent dividend and growth potential. This question relates to my RRSP.
