Q: Can you confirm for me if the price of Enbridge (ENB:CA) was above $60 in April 2015 please?
The 10 year ENB:CA chart I see on the 5i website (and on the Stockcharts website) appears to be quite different than the price chart I see in my BMO Investorline (/ Koyfin, the barcharts website, and a quick google search).
First time I’ve ever noticed something like this, so I’m just confused and wondering which chart is the correct chart to follow? Thanks for your help.
Q: From a high on Jan 2021 of $62.40 to a low on March 6, 2023 of $28.63 BEPC:CA has been constantly dropping. It just now has started to recover to $35.26. Do the fundamentals of BEPC:CA enable its position now to continue grow as such, the downtrend having been due to market flux and circumstance, or just chuck it and go for more BIP. I hold BEP, BEPC, BIP and BIPC.
Thank you for your terrific insight as always
Q: Retired dividend-income investor. We hold AQN in my wife's RRSP...held it since 2011...bought it at $5.60 and trimmed it several times over the years.
I am debating whether to flush it and take the proceeds and buy ZUT. I also own FTS, TRP and other utility-energy equities contained within ZLB and CDZ.
For the "keep AQN" argument = a) good momentum YTD = +27%, b) great chart, especially with the 50 mda overlay, c) if there is a take-over of AQN, there is a probable premium of "who knows "% (30%?).
For the "flush AQN" argument = a) with other planned cash injections throughout 2023, this would improve my overall sector allocations, b) minor point, but it would simplify my portfolio, by the elimination of a holding (I hold a reasonably concentrated portfolio of 12 blue chip stocks and 10 ETF's, plus fixed income), c) I thought I read that AQN is not expected to have a high rate of growth this year, d) the holdings inside ZUT look appealing, containing both renewable and non-renewable.
I am ok letting it ride for a while longer, but also ok flushing it. Your thoughts? Am I missing anything? I know you can't compare a single stock to a diversified ETF.
Q: Please compare P/E’s, cash flow yield , balance sheet leverage and future growth. How would you rank in order of most preferred to not interested. Ty.
Q: Thanks for your response to my question regarding what companies SU might consider for future acquisitions given they will have a need to replace production going forward. Would you please provide explanations for both MEG and BTE as to why they would be the potential targets by SU.
Thank you!
Q: Given Conocco Phillips exercised their right of first refusal on Surmount, Suncor has options to manage their cash. Their is also comments that they need to replace production so in addition to reducing debt, buying shares, acquistions could be an option. Who do you think would be a target for them?
Thanks
Q: The dividend on Enbridge is over 7 percent. Have they ever cut their dividend? It’s pretty rich. Would you consider the price a good entry point? It’s down almost $10 from its high,
Q: May I please have 5i's view of VTS and its business model. Do you consider it a good stock for a RIF account, and is the attractive yield sustainable?
Q: I have done well on TOU but am well off the highs. The dividend is minimal and I'm wondering if you can suggest another energy company that is strong but with a decent dividend. what about CPG, for example. I have a full ENB position as well as lots of renewables so am thinking more fossil fuel companies. thanks
Q: Peter; Todays inventory numbers shows a drop of 12.46million barrels vs an expected rise of 932,000. - how can this statistic have any credibility? Thanks.
