Q: Hello Peter, Ryan & 5i Team

I'm looking to bulk up my US exposure, specifically US$ income rather than growth names. Would you favour ETFs or a small set of individual companies for this purpose (any suggestions of either? Thank you)

Q: What are your top recommendations for Canadian power producers. I am selling Northland Power (NPI) based on my advisor's recommendation and would like to re-invest in the same sector.

Q: INE just released its Q2 results, earnings are up but cash flow is down and the dividend payout ratio is up as a result. So is the dividend at current level sustainable? And what is your take overall of the Q2 results.

Q: Could you please provide some information on Brookfield Select Opportunities Income Fund (BSO)? How does this fund work, and for whom would it be appropriate? For instance, would it be a fair assessment to use it as part of Fixed Income portion in a well-diversified portfolio? -- and to use it as a full position (in this case being around 5%)? I'm assuming it trades just like any other equity? Thanks for all your great service.

Q: Hi 5i Team, at 63 I know I should be in Bonds........but can't get myself to, especially if they go Negative. Hence, I'm looking for 1 or 2 good companies that pay a good/safe dividend. CHR pays almost 7%, and their Air Canada contract is good until 2025, so low risk of the dividing slumping & using the Rule of 72, my $ should double in 10 years. Can you please comment &/or offer an alternative? Thanks!:)

Q: Great service.TY. Does Exchange report on Aug 8th and would it be fair to predict that they would beat because of the price of aviation fuel or am I way off base here? Also is there any particular reason a little 'eye' (or something) appears beside its name when a question is asked about it??

Q: which would you recommend for income growth,stability and reasonable valuation. Capital appreciation is not as important. Looking for a 2 to 3 year hold. Thanx.

Q: I currently hold BPY (up 50% over cost) and H&R in my portfolio 4% and 3% respectively.
I am considering swapping BPY for BEP for the additional income. Your thoughts?

I also plan to crystallize my capital losses and purchase the following ETFs:
Non registered:
ZPW – US Put Write
ZWE – Europe Covered Call hedged to CAD.
ZWH – US covered call
CPD – CAD preferred
XRE – Capped REIT

Registered (RRIF):
PGX:US – Preferred.

Each would constitute 2% - 3% of my portfolio. Diversification is my intention, but risk and surety of income is the primary consideration in all of the above noted.

Q: I am looking for general advice on the fixed income side of a portfolio. Where should I go to find fixed income that has a decent return? Or should I not worry about that, and concentrate on dividends from stable companies.

I have about 10% cash, and 10% altogether in ZPR, CVD, CSU.DB (all three obviously not fixed income). BTW, retirement in ten years or so.

Q: Is ZPR primarily constructed of rate reset preferred shares and if yes would this ETF be a good investment right now for income and capital preservation?

Q: I am down 51% on Pot, I can hold for 5 years if need be but I am wondering if I should just get out and buy another stock. I am in the money with Atco and since it hit a 52 week high I am wondering if I should just take my profits and buy another stock in the same sector

Q: I bought a half position (for me that is 1.5% for this stock) in Alaris just before the report. It dropped. But I am not giving up. Should I purchase the other half now after such a large movement down.
