Q: Cineplex is something I understand as a movie-goer.

My question is two-fold:
1) Are they doing enough to diversify their business outside of the core film theatre business?
2) Is their dividend at risk?

Q: What am I missing here? KWH sold for $8.80 a unit. That has not settled yet. The dividend record date has passed. It is trading today 0.18 below buy price. Why so low to that unit value?

Q: With VNR being purchased for $26 cash to the shareholders do you suggest to just let this happen in due time or would it be beneficial to sell ones shares while it is trading above $26? Thank you for any advice on this. The dividend will be missed.

Q: what is the payout ratio for this company and what is the feeling about the class action lawsuit levelled against General Chemical (now part of Chemtrade.)

Q: current bid/ask on Crius is $8.65/$8.66 - this is about 15 cents a share less than the payout price of $8.80 or about $150. per 1000 shares. why is there such a difference on the current stock price vs the buyout price?

Q: Hi, from a recent Globe article (excerpt below) it appears a substantial activist shareholder group is taking issue with the deal announced with BEP. Do you feel it has the potential to derail the Deal or substantially modify it. So far the market has not reacted to this news. Thanks.

“However, Mangrove Partners, Bluescape Energy Partners and Cove Key Management LP rejected the deal earlier this week for leaning too heavily in favour of Brookfield, and said they would nominate five directors to TransAlta’s 10-member board with the aim of being able to terminate the investment.

On Friday, the investors – which own a combined 10.1 per cent of TransAlta’s outstanding shares – issued a statement calling on TransAlta to release more details on its decision to side with Brookfield, which it called a “rushed process.”

Spokespersons at TransAlta and Brookfield declined to comment.

“Let me be clear: Our goal is not to stop this transaction, but rather to ensure that the company retains the option to pursue or renegotiate a better one," Mangrove Partners’ Mr. August said.”

Q: In an earlier response you mentioned the price was .02 cents off the target price. I thought the buy out was for $8.80 plus divvy of .209 cents. So $9.009 total, is that correct?

Q: Crius shareholders have agreed to the takeover offer. The current market price is only slightly less than the takeover price. Since Crius went ex-dividend on March 25 is there any reason to hang on to the stock until the actual takeover date? Is there another dividend on closing?

BNS EX Dividend is march 31 , Sunday, If I buy today friday march 29 , DO I STILL RECEIVE dividend ? ( my understanding is I would not be the owner of shares bought today until april 1 monday.)

Also PWF IS ex dividend march 28, what is the earliest I can sell while still receiving the dividend ? march 28 or today march 29 ?

How economically sensitive are CHE.UN's business streams? I know they don't appear to have done a great job running the business. There doesn't appear to have been material growth and there hasn't been any dividend growth for a long time. The dividend now looks like it should probably be halved and that cash saving repurposed, probably to debt reduction. But what I'm more interested in is whether you think that a recession would be likely to put their enterprise at substantial risk. Or whether you would not expect their arc through an economic downturn to put them in significant danger of failing. Thanks.

Q: What is your view on the VNR takeout. Seems to me there could be a good chance for a rival bid as the premium is not huge and there has been considerable corporate activity(buyouts ect.) in the North American utility space. Do you expect this is a done deal OR potential bidding war?

Q: I see BNS goes EX Dividend on April 1. Do I need to buy today or tomorrow to get the dividend?

Q: I hold some ING in my US margin account and was puzzled by this statement from the ING report of Feb 12, 2019

Proposed dividend of €1.10 per share
In line with the Group's dividend policy, a proposal to distribute a dividend of €1.10 per share will be presented to the Annual General Meeting of shareholders on 11th June 2019, representing a distribution rate of 36%. This dividend will be payable in cash or shares, according to the holder's preference.

Is this an annual dividend?
If not annual how often is it paid?
Is one share of an ADR = one ING share?
In USD should I consider that about $1.25?

Q: I realize these companies market caps are quite far apart,but I consider them both utilities which one would you buy for a 2-4 year hold and why ,could you me tell about both as far as management,cash flow and growth thank you
