Q: It seems like FLOT, MFT have not seen the dramatic price drop as XBB and CBO even though XBB and CBO have the lower yield. Could you comment as to why? For new money in the present market what would you suggest? Thanks for your service.

Q: Good morning
Based on current climate and uncertainty, I started to liquidate some holding or at least profits over the last few weeks....about 30% cash...however, I would like to place some cash in income producing stocks (REIT/XHY) or other such stable stocks...I fully understand we are in volatile market..but was wondering which you would recommend 5 or 6 names for income with what we would be considered less volatile in this environment..+4%..yields...when things settle will deploy back into my core holdings...thanks

Q: What's your view of continuing to hold VIG in the near to medium term? I'm thinking there could be an increasing amount of pressure on it and its constituent companies as higher bond yields are actually materializing and are making VIG's 1.84% dividend look anemic by comparison. Is there an alternative holding/strategy you might recommend in its place during this period?

Q: Hello 5i
Do you think that dividend payers will ever come back into fashion. I know they were at elevated levels with ultra low interest rates but has the market over reacted to these stocks? Am I safe with a 10 year time line to stick with stocks like ala, enb, bce, dol and bns for example?
Thanks.

Q: Regarding Bonds,

I just wanted to clarify if I got this concept right. With interest rates increasing and a few more planned increases over the next year..The bond prices decrease as the yield increases..So if one can predict with some certainty the expected increase in rates will stop..is that the only time when bond purchases are beneficial?
Brookfield, and Berkshire have purchased solid assets at bargain prices over time. I own full positions in both of these but for a longterm would you consider these as a replacement to fixed investement allocation. If you agree I would double the positions to 10% each. Thanks for your insight.

Q: I have some questions on Altagas. Would a person be better to buy ACI later this month, because it should have better growth(propane export).
Also, If I were to buy Altagas now , is there not a fair chance of the dividend being cut, because of reduced cash flow(selling Canadian assets). Would you please comment on these aspects. Will ACI have a dividend and how much.
TSGI I was thinking of selling for tax purposes and would like to buy back after 30 days.. Do you know when the next report will be out, I thought perhaps in the middle of Nov.. Thanks in advance Love your service Earl

Q: I recently read a article in the Globe and Mail about companies on the TSX that have a PEG ratio of less than 1.0. CHR was included in this article. It had a PEG ratio of 0.4. I realize there are many criteria to consider when investing but PEG ratio is one that I think is important. Based on his information CHR is either a screaming buy or the earnings growth rate is way out of whack. Which do you think and would you recommend CHR for long term investment (5 years or more)?
