Q: In my overall portfolio covering all sectors, I had 4 equally weighted stocks in the industrial sector (BIN, CP, WSP and STN), but recently sold BIN. I'm considering selling CP as well and adding one or two other industrials to go with WSP and STN for a longer term hold. What do you think of this approach, and are there a couple of stocks in this sector you would recommend, in order of preference? Thanks

Q: Hello 5i team,
I am considering at least lowering my exposure to natural resource stocks. But, i would still like to participate in a recovery. My thought is that certain companies that serve the oil and gas industry would partipate in any recovery. Companies like CP. Would you suggest any other companies that might be appropriate for such a strategy?
thanks

Q: What do you think of CP's answer regarding how they calculate their earnings?

And on a related note, was there anything in CNR's (Canadian National Railway) earnings to cause concern? Management reaffirmed forward guidance and it looks "cheaper" now, on a forward p/e basis, than it has in a long while.

Thanks,

John

Q: Hi Peter

What are your thoughts on the recent swoon in the price of CP which I hold at a loss in a registered account? Is it all oil related or is something else going on? What are your thoughts on the valuation now and how would you compare it with CNR which has not declined to the same extent?

Thanks so much for helping us through these confusing markets!

Q: CP has moved up nicely since your last comment January 10. The new management team has done a fabulous job increasing EPS, lowering the operating ratio and changing the culture. They are now talking about possibly increasing the dividend or instituting a share buyback program. Would you continue to hold this stock for further gains? Thanks.
