Q: Could you please suggest a few names - preferably Canadian if possible - of companies developing hydrogen as an energy source along with any insight/opinions you might have.
Many thanks, Dave
Q: Picked this one and did well, now wondering if should keep or sell?
Chart looks good, lumber price up, consumer cyclical stocks rolling, good latest reporting, and debt reduction.
Dividend not a consideration to me.
What would you do?
I just noticed the book value of my BEP.un dropped a lot from August, is it because the free BEPC given to share holders´É. Also, the description of the free shares says non-taxable. Will appreciate your explanation.
Q: Your most recent report ask if the reader has seen the recent chart attack. I’ve searched the site and can’t seem to find it. Where can members find the recent chart attack posting.
Q: Mp Materials, a recently listed rare earth metals company, have reported earnings. Do you see this stock, at current valuation, as a good opportunity for investing in this important commodity? Any other speculative options in rare earth space? Thanks
Q: In a previous question your replied "The 17% discount makes sense considering the stock has only traded above $1.40 for two days."
I would have expected the price would have been set/negotiated at some point prior to the announcement and so would have been at a premium while this was in "the works" which I thought would have been prior to the increase. But I suspect I'm not correct on this. Can you explain how this bought deal pricing is set? Thanks John
Q: Hi 5i team : what level of cash do you recommend in a portfolio ?, this outside the requirements of cash required for our own expenses (so not to sell stocks when the market had crashed/bottomed due to cash needs) . In the market environment as today , is 5%, 10 % ?, or in between ?, does it change according to the market condition ?, thanks
Q: I see that Mr Parent has been awarded the order of Canada. A good testament to the quality of CAE management. What is the 5I view of the recent acquisition of Tru Simulation.
Is it material?
CAE management must be positive about their future.
Thank You
Clarence
Q: IIROC has suspended trading, pending delisting.
As far as I know Mene has provided all documents so I suspect the delisting may be to take Mene private. Insiders own about 80% of the stock. If this is what is happening, how do you see this played out ? Is there any chance shareholders will get nothing or little ?
Thanks
Q: I am surprised that there have not been more questions on this stock (I count three in the last year), given its performance (from .40 to 26.00, 5300% according to T.R.). I appreciate it was higher in past years, but, still, there must be something moving this one. It is, now, a 2 billion market cap company. Perhaps I am just missing something. I would appreciate your thoughts going forward.
Thanks
Neil
i was wondering if u were buying a reit today which one would it be. I looking for dividend I do own bit BPY & H&R but not whole lot. i would like something new or would u just buy theses?
I am retired with a RIF. Is your Income Portfolio suitable for a RIF?
If not, what changes would you suggest?
If not, would you please consider providing a RIF Model Portfolio for your subscribers in the near future?
Q: I am retired, living off dividends and distributions I receive from my CDN portfolio. For a number of years, I have put my high-yielding REITs with less tax-efficient distributions in my TFSA. I have paper losses on all of them, but it is a long-term game and they still have high yields, except H&R. Given H&R’s holdings, in a context more negative toward retail and office spaces, should I take my loss, even in a TFSA, and replace it with NWH.un, which I have in my taxable account and has a higher yield? Thanks, Martin
