Q: I am sitting on significant cash holding. I understand that predicting the bottom is not a strategy, but I am looking at taking advantage of the recent pullback.
Given that most predict we are heading into a recession, is deploying 1/3 of the cash at this point a good strategy and deploying the remainder over the next 6 months.
I am looking for Income and growth over the next 3 to 5 years. I was looking at FTS, BIP, SLF, ENB, AQN, RY, TD, BCE. Is there any of these names you would not buy now?
Thanks
Tim

Please provide your thoughts on Canadian Preferred shares versus Canadian Dividend Paying stocks? What are the pros and cons to each? If looking for higher dividends are Preferreds worth the risk?

Q: Hello,
I've had these three healthcare companies on my watchlist for some time. Can I get your up-to-date assessment of each re: growth prospects and balance sheet stability? Would you consider any of them to be a buy and if so, in what order and is the current valuation reasonable?
Thank you, Doris

Q: would you buy some shares(10,000) for a 5 years term?
Q: We are holding cash to invest. Do you think the market will steady in the near future or should we keep holding cash for a better opportunity to invest it. Do you have any time line in mind.
Thank you

Q: Hi, Higher yielding equities, like Utilities, Pipelines and Telcos seem to be hit more and more, everyday. Do you see these sectors to come under more pressure, as FED/BOC is not likely to relent and continue with the rate hiking cycle, may be even into 2023. We are sitting with 15-20% capital loss situation, for above two companies bought in Aug/Sep, this year. Would it make sense to sell/harvest the capital loss and buy back later with the assumption that there is more downside to come ? Thank You

Q: Hi,
What are some good ways to get exposure to metals?
Are there other good etfs other than XLB? That is largely copper/aluminium... are there are gold/silver tilted? Or other good ones in general?
Stock wise, what are some favourites?

Q: Looking at EFN and TFII to deploy new money. EFN has done better the last 6 months and appears more expensive. RBC rates them both outperform. How comparable are their businesses and which one do you consider more attractive at present? Thanks for your help.
Q: I am curious if your opinion of these two firms has changed. I am interested if you see any catalysts for significant growth from either of them. I do realise they are - or at least were - high risk. Just looking for some play money attempts at a 10 bagger plus! Some of my comments are below.
1) In the last couple of years ZDC has managed to move in to something we might be able to call profit, and their market cap has grown from your $4 million estimate in 2019 to about $30 million today.
2) AMI you called a sell in 2020. Their fracking sand was supposed to be a hot thing for them for years now, and I do see "some" movement in that direction, but slowly indeed.
