Q: My Reit and Utilities have become underweight in my portfolio (not because they haven't done well - other stocks have just done better). What would be your top three value investments in these sectors today (they all seem a bit expensive right now) in both the US and Canada. i am looking for both income and a bit of growth.

Q: Hello,
I would like to know if there is an easy way to find ETF's which provide dividends on a monthly basis. Is there a list out there I can use or would you have a short list of such dividend payers? I do own XDV which is a monthly payer. I believe that using a DRIP in my account with monthly dividends should grow my portfolio faster over the long term.

Q: I have BNS at 3% in my TFSA and have been considering switching to BAM.A.CA for diversification in the financial sector and for possible increased growth. I realize the dividend from BAM is less than BNS and am not aware of which currency BAM is paid out in. I would appreciate your input re pro /con of making this switch.

Q: Hi 5i team,
These two stocks, which are in the Balance portfolio, had a lot of happenings in the past few days. GIL posted negative news while GUD posted positive news. Is it a good time to initiate a 4% position in one or both stocks ? Would it be prudent to add to these two stocks right now, or better to wait till the dust settles.

Q: For my fixed income side of my portfolio I've just been keeping cash in a high interest savings account (Achieva Financial in Manitoba). It pays 2.3% interest. I just checked the yield to maturity of BND the US Vanguard bond ETF and it's 2.3%. The YTM for ZAG the Canadian BMO bond ETF is 2.2%. Hardly seems worth paying an MER and risking price fluctuations. What do you think, am I missing something here?
