Q: If one is moderately concerned about a potential market pullback, would ONEX be a good hedge? How does this stock react in market downturns compared to FFH?

Hi team, I am up on this stock significantly, I bought this stock couple of years ago after watching lot of insider activity.
But is this company worth holding on to or take profit.
I have been a member since July this year, your service and expertise is unmatched. I am beating myself for not knowing 5i all these years.
I would have been much much ahead.

Q: I am considering tax loss harvesting in these companies from my non registered acct.
FIH.UN down 18%
CVE down 22%
CGNX down 13 %
SQ down 24%
Are these companies sells? Which companies would you recommend replacing them with so I don't miss any possible rebounds. OR is it time to move the money to different sectors with better opportunities for 2018. OR these stocks are poised for a quicker rebound and should be held onto?

Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and company!

First off, congratulations on the Balanced Portfolio once again beating the TSX Index! Not an easy feat, since typically most paid money managers cannot.

Looking at 2018, with the U.S. tax reform Bill likely becoming a law today, what stocks covered by 5i benefit from a lower U.S. corporate tax rate and immediate expensing of capital purchases?

Q: As I understand it, the purchase of WGL Holdings will be paid for with the US$4.95 billion bridge loan provided by the banks with the balance being assumed debt. The intention is to replace the bridge loan with the proceeds from the subscription receipts, the private placement to OMERS and additional debt, preferred shares and hybrid securities. One of the major concerns investors seem to have about ALA is a fear that it might run into the same issues as Kinder Morgan and its purchase of NGPL. In that case the stock price plummeted from $45 to $15 when it had to cut the dividend in the face of Moody's threat to cut their rating. In your assessment is ALA in a similar precarious position or does it have it's financing in place? I have a full position in ALA and I am trying to reasonably assess the risks based on what we know (speculative risks are what they are).
