Q: I have about 20k US funds to invest. Since I have couple of balanced Canadian portfolios already in registered accounts, so for the us funds, I am looking for safe growth in stocks or etfs, Ideally to invest in the areas that Canadian market doesn't cover, such as IT, AI related. Could you suggest couple of names?

Q: Hello 5i,
can you help explain the fundamental service offering differences between these two companies. In my view they seem to be direct competitors to one another with little to differentiate them. Is the revenue model different between the two? What did PHM do to fall from grace? Which one would you invest in for a long term hold?

Q: i already have full positions (4%) in bip and bep. i have been looking at bbu but after going through some documents on the bbu website it appears that bbu is engaged in some similar businesses as the other 2. what would you recommend as another option besides bbu?

Q: On December 22, 2017 the 3 stocks concerned concluded the day at $8.28, $767.34, and $68.92. I assume all should be kept for the future. Only GUD is presently is at problematic value. In agreement ?

Q: Noted Peter's two top picks earlier this week , ECN and SHOP.
The stories may sound good but could you comment on the fundamentals on both of these companies.
ECN, reduced revenue in 2/3 last quarters and EPS down in past two quarters, increase in diluted shares in past year. Balance sheet looks iffy with increasing debt.
SHOP, net income down, eps down, negative free cash flow, negative ROE, negative ROIC., but nice balance sheet with lots of cash.
If these are top picks , why are neither owned by guest, households, investment banker clients or guest firm or affiliates as indicated on disclosure at end of top picks?

Q: LTV has just announced it's intention to make an "initial coin offering" (ICO) in mid 2018 in order to support further development of its block chain technology. I 'm not familiar with the ICO term and would appreciate your explanation of it. Hope all of you at 5i have a very restful and merry Christmas.
