Q: I've just been looking at Parkland and it's chart is basically flat for the last 3 years. I see you are positive about it going forward, but would you suggest someone well along into retirement stick with it or retreat to something else? (suggestions?)

iShares Core MSCI All Country World ex Canada Index ETF (XAW $48.26)
-
iShares U.S. Industrials ETF (IYJ $144.21)
-
Materials Select Sector SPDR (XLB $89.30)
-
Vanguard Industrials ETF (VIS $290.99)
-
Industrial Select Sector SPDR (XLI $151.90)
Q: Can you recommend a few ETFs that have good exposure to US industrials and materials? Preferably in a single security if there is one, but separately is fine as well. I'm indifferent as to whether it is a CDN ETF listed in Canada or USD ETF listed on a US exchange.

Mawer Global Small Cap Fund Series A (MAW150 $16.36)
-
Mawer Canadian Equity Fund Series A (MAW106 $108.39)
Q: Can you please comment about the Mawer funds Which are the top 3 or four? Which are better for a non-registered account, and is there one you recommend for a TFSA? I don't have a long time horizon, being 76, but am open to some risk (and reward), Is there another mutual fund company in Canada you can recommend that sells diversified holdings in Europe and the US? I'd like some holdings that aren't usually found in ETFs that are good value. Thanks for all your help.
Q: Walmart reported good earnings but Costco shares have outperformed Walmart over the last year. Do you think Costco shares are too expensive? Which shares, if any, would you buy today? Would you sell either company?
Q: Please comment Q2 results. Thanks.
Q: Please give me your thoughts on these two laggards in my portfolio. Do I keep them for dividends or replace them with more potential.
Q: Hello
When watching BNN, I occasionally see ads for companies promoting their stock. Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Greg

Q: I have done well with GSY ( thanks very much) and would like to add to my position. What in your opinion would be a good price to add new money?
Q: I live off my dividends. Telus' dividend is not covered by its earnings...either eps or cash flow. Is the dividend eventually going to be cut? Should I sell and add to BCE?

Kinaxis Inc. (KXS $197.91)
-
Nuvei Corporation Subordinate Voting Shares (NVEI $47.61)
-
Magnet Forensics Inc. Subordinate voting shares (MAGT $44.24)
Q: In your answer to Dan today, you rated the desirability of holding stock for a 5 year + period. You show NVEI and MAGT as 8 and KXS as 6. While all three are expected to show good year over year earnings growth the analysts high target price for KXS is $288, up 60% while the high for NVEI is $169, up 30%.
Just looking for your thoughts on what would suggest a higher rating for NVEI and MAGT.
Many thanks
Mike

Q: Hi 5i
I noticed BC Investment Management initiated a very small position in Tilray (I think it is about .1% of their holdings). With the stock near 52 week low and the US moving towards legalization, would you be tempted to place a small bet?
Thanks,
Greg

Q: Leon's pays a regular dividend of $0.16/share/quarter and has also announced a special dividend of $1.25, both effective Sept 08/21 (DOR).
All else being equal, my understanding is that on the ex-div date the share price should drop $0.16 due to the regular dividend. Is the same true for the special dividend....in other words should we expect the share price to drop $1.25 as well?
Thanks...Steve

In a second question, If AAPL was to build an electric car wouldn't you think that HNHPF would have a chance to partner somehow? Are there some hints from APPL management that they will eventually move to electric cars? Lots of rumors but any words from AAPL ?
Thank you.
Yves

Q: Hi Team,
I have owned IPL for 18 years now and have incurred a loss over that period. Regarding the purchase of this company by Brookfield Infrastructure; if I accept their offer (cash/stock etc.) am I still able to claim my loss as a capital loss even though in my mind no real disposition has taken place? I cannot find succinct enough information on this in order to make my decision.
Thank you so much,
Dean
