Q: My Godson's birthday is coming up. I wish to buy him stock as a gift. Is there an easy way to accomplish this without using an RESP account.

Q: Hi 5i,

I am new to your service and was wondering if I should buy all the securities listed in the model portfolio at one time or should I ease into them somehow? Any guidance/direction on this would be appreciated.

Q: Hi Ryan A few months back I a full position in this stock I hold it in the US side of my account at RBC direct investing .
The Dividend arrives at Computer share their transfer agent converted to Can $ it is then transferred as to RBC in C$ RBC then allocates the funds to the the various accounts those on the Canadian side get C$ those who hold the stock on the US side get it reconverted to US$ this gyration cost me 2.5% of my dividend.
Canadian investors should be aware of this .

Q: I have just done a portfolio review following your system and I gained much more than I expected from the exercise. Once again thank you. This is, if not a life saver, certainly a great time saver. But, it does show that there were many things that I was blind to.

Q: Question still about ex dividend dates

BNS EX Dividend is march 31 , Sunday, If I buy today friday march 29 , DO I STILL RECEIVE dividend ? ( my understanding is I would not be the owner of shares bought today until april 1 monday.)

Also PWF IS ex dividend march 28, what is the earliest I can sell while still receiving the dividend ? march 28 or today march 29 ?

Q: Both GWO and PWF are offering to buy back shares, is it my understanding that agreeing to sell to them through my BMO investorline account (self directed) that I don't know what price I am getting?

That doesn't make any sense to me. Why would anyone agree to sell for an unknown price, dictated by the company?

How do you think share prices will behave in the next 1 to 2 weeks with this hanging in the air ?

Q: i have taken some profits and would now like to add some Realty Estate in my portfolio. I would like one or two stable companies to hold for 3-5 years with a nice dividend.
