Q: Can you provide comments on just released results. They appear ok but pre market SHOP is down sharply. Did results meet your expectations? How do you see stock performance going forward?
Q: If one believes that the market is reaching its peak and may trade down or sideways for the next year or two, what do you think of this ETF. Conversely, how would you expect it to perform in an up market? Thanks!
Q: ENB-T has outperformed PPL-T in past 12 months. ENB has P/E of 21.81 and dividend yield of 5.94% where as PPL-T has P/E of 16.00 and dividend yield of 5.27%. Is it a good idea to switch at this price based on Sell high and Buy low? Beside these two metrics, is future earning growth of ENB-T makes it outperforming other pipeline stocks listed on TSX? Your views please.
Thanks
I notice that you often state that stocks did well under Trump's first term.
With all due respect, Trump 2.0 is, in my own view and the view of many others, Trump 2.0 is a different 'kettle of fish' than Trump 1.0. One needs only to look at both Canadian and US media to see the complete chaos that Trump is causing on both sides of the border.
Q: Hi Peter,
My new strategy this yr is to buy growth stocks that have done public offerings to finance future growth in 2025/26. Can you think of any other names to add to this list?
Q: Hi,
I read with great interest Lisa and Peter’s questions and your answers on Feb. 10 about Trump, US holdings and economic warfare.
Given Trump is now making noises about how some US debt could be fraudulent, and the US may not owe as much as the Treasury reports, I see new risks.
For instance, as part of his economic warfare against Canada, could he by the stroke of a pen declare Canadian held US debt is fraudulent to put pressure on Canada to become the 51st state? Further, could he freeze Canadian held assets in the US (securities, real estate, business assets, etc.) to further pressure Canada?
Along Lisa’s line of thought, does it indeed make sense to sell some US assets and re-buy in Canada?
Final question: if I hold US cash in a US dollar account in a Canadian domiciled bank, is it safe from Trump’s potential ravages?
(Please take multiple credits.)
Thank you, Michael
Q: I would appreciate your comments on these ETFs [plus Capital Group Growth which did not register- CGGR] - my earlier question was too broad. How to go about assessing them one against the other. Would appreciate guidance on which ones are keepers for long-term hold. How would you evaluate them. Thanks
Q: Your opinion on the quarter results coming on the 14th. A few analysts feel the $65.00 dollar area is hit its peak for the time being. Your thoughts. cheers
Q: You suggest that AEM could be a buy at 100-110 ,but it is now at 143 .My position in this stock has doubled, I wonder if I should take "some" profit now , unless it is considered as a safe and interesting value even at 143.. Your point of vue will be very appreciated.
Q: Do you think South Bow is potential takeover target? Their pipeline would seem to be a desirable asset for another pipeline company, Private Equity or Infrastructure name like Brookfield Infrastructure. Would their higher debt be a deterrent at this point? South Bow reminds me somewhat of Inter Pipeline but perhaps more desirable since their pipeline extends from Canada into the USA. Looking forward to your response. Many thanks.
Q: To the gentleman who responded to my earlier question on this issue - the revenue for the past quarter was $168.6M vs $152.7M estimated, although I am not sure where the latter figure came from, but the forecast revenue for Q4 is only $132M which is down substantially, and not up, from their current revenue of $168.6M; hence my question and concern. Rational analysis indicates that the prevailing rate of growth will not be sustained in Q4 and the past quarter(s) was/were an aberration for reasons unknown to me for certain. Can you please elaborate.
Q: I am just starting my TFSA and am starting young, I am wondering what are some good long term investments in the current environment? The companies listed are what I have recently bought shares in.
