Q: Do you see small holding in Bitcoin as a reasonable hedge against inflation. I am thinking of 2-3% of my portfolio? I would likely get exposure through an ETF.

Closed Funds (CEFs).
Intrigued by your recent articles on DIY investor’s advantages and becoming a fund manager again, I re-read a couple of my books on hedge funds by Seabastian Mallaby, Edward O. Thorp, and Simon Lack’s “The Hedge Fund Mirage: The illusion of big money and why it’s too good to be true”.
In the latter 2012 book Simon Lack argues large hedge funds and most institutions ignore closed funds which leaves good opportunities for small hedge funds and sophisticated investors of which there are very few in his opinion. In Lack’s opinion the CEF space is dominated by individual retail investors who chase yield that is mis-stated (CEFs publish a distribution yield rather than the actual yield so are engaging in ROC) and foolishly buy IPOs of CEFs. Lack says numerous articles and books have been written on this subject and how to evaluate CEFs but my research did not produce very much at all. Do you have any views and suggestions on how an individual could or should approach this opportunity if it still exists?

Q: I need some help in understanding some of the OTC Pink Sheet listings. While asking for a quote on Sika AG at RBCDI, two different options are presented. SXYAY at $27.52 USD and it has traded volume. SKFOF at $237.00 USD but has no traded volume for 15 Jan 21, and a very low avg vol.

Why the 2 diff "listings"? Different classes of shares?

Q: I was wondering if you have an opinion on the risk coming from possible political stability/volatility in the US. While I would guess your answer is status quo, it is hard to think of a more alarming political situation, and right now, increased susceptibility to a subsequent event, such as an outside threat.
Also, somewhat related: with the stimulus package now priced in, do you still think that there is a catalyst ahead for another leg up in the market? Is it any different from our current theses (environment, pot, tech, industrial, gaming etc)?

I have a question about TRP.
If TRP were to walk away from the XL project what material impact will it have on the company? Is it significant and do you think it is a short term blip or will it hurt them long term?

On Jan 12, 2021 NGA announced a large IPO. NGA has stated that it intends to focus on opportunities whose business model demonstrates clear commitments to sustainability and strong alignment with environmental, social, and governance principles.

It would seem that a blank check company formed for the purposes of M&A's, might view NFI as an attractive target, as it appears to be undervalued with a strong tailwinds & attractive governance coming from planned infrastructure spending across it's markets. There would also appear to be strong synergies between Lion and NFI's businesses.

While the above is highly speculative, does 5i view acquisition of NFI by NGA as making sense. Why or why not?
