Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: The old adage that selling is harder than buying is certainly true. As previously discussed I have done a double with EGLX in my TFSA in a relatively short period of time. I mentioned selling half and having the remaining 50 % as free money. This makes sense and feels good. However, because of unrelated circumstances it was not done and the good news is that the stock is up another 20% ! What to do?
I know you are a momentum investor; how would you handle this? The investment is now almost 50% of TFSA but less than 3% of total investments. Thanks. Derek

Q: Do you have any ideas or suggestions how to invest in eSports, aside from investing in game publishers (Blizzard, EA)? While the publishers will clearly make money, it seems like the companies associated with streaming/tournaments/professional teams have a lot of growth potential as well. But eSports seems like the wild west right now, with lots of small outfits starting up 'professional teams'. Are there any companies in this space (teams/streaming/etc) that seem more legitimate than others?
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this industry and where you see the growth here.
Thanks!

Q: I have made a double on this stock in a very short time and it is almost 40 % of my total TFSA portfolio. I use my TFSA for most aggressive stocks and the account is only 3% of my total cash/ RRSP portfolios.
You seem to think that January may see a fair amount of volatility this year as investors cash out some of the oversized returns, especially in tech, that have been made this year.
I am looking at adding XBC, WELL, STC, SCR
While writing this I am thinking the best action would be to sell 50% of EGLX now and keep the rest as it certainly has momentum and then wait on the others for the new year. What do you think? Any other small caps that you might consider if you wanted to take a flyer on?
All the best, Derek

Q: I am looking at these two companies (one or both) for my TFSA which I use for my more aggressive investments. I believe the sport gambling and the e-gaming sectors offer explosive growth but there of course will be winners and losers. They both have big name backers.
Your opinion ( financial strength, management, etc. )of these two would be appreciated. Do you like either or both? Any other favourite Canadian alternatives ? Thanks
Derek

Q: Asked your opinion on this stock in June for my TFSA which you replied that it was very speculative but something to watch. Have not purchased it yet.
There are a lot of moving parts to the company and its stock with mergers and share consolidation several weeks ago.
I have 2 questions:: How has the stock behaved since mergers / consolidation.? ( I find it very difficult to determine). Has your opinion on this company changed? Thanks
Derek
