Ithaca has come out with the information circular for shareholders to tender their shares for $1.95. The circular puts the company potential down in its ability to grow. If it is so bad why are they trying to buy it lol!!!!! They must be taking lessons from Donald Trump's White House with 'False News'. I was disgusted with what I read. I believe the company has higher value potential and people invest to take risk to get reward and they say they want to protect us from the risk. It is more like they want to rob us of the reward!!!!!! I thought it was going to be a vote but from what I understand from the circular is you vote yes by tendering your shares for $1.95 and vote no by doing nothing. Is my interpretation correct?
What is your opinion of the takeover based on the circular and what is your opinion of the circular?
Q: It appears the merger/acquisition of Reynolds American will go through. The price of the ADR has fallen almost by half. Any comment on why the price decline?
Next, is your outlook for the future of this company positive?
Doug
Q: I have an equal position in aqn and rmw. Would you advise selling some rnw and investing it into aqn? What is your outlook for each of these companies for a 2 to 3 year hold? Is the debt a concern for either of these companies? Thanx for your excellent service.
Q: Hi I just watched this hedge fund manager short EIF I wonder what his credentials are I doubt reading a Finance Report are his forte .I believe any can and has the right to short a stock but when as a guest on BNN you do this it has a impact on the stock .
I believe that BNN should not allow exposure to these hedge Managers to help them advertise their short position .
As a shareholder of BCE I am going to be a pain in !@@&^
for the next while BNN should be held accountable
Kind Regards
Stan
Q: Good Morning
Today, on BNN, an analyst indicated that he is shorting both stocks. I will appreciate your views with respect to the above noted securities. I am ahead about 40% on both stocks.
Would you recommend selling TRI and EIF
Thank you
On BNN, David Lloyd recently painted a very bleak picture for Exchange Income and recommends shorting this stock. I'd appreciate your opinion of the very negative comments he has on this company. The following is copied from the BNN website:
Q: Hi 5i, I'm moving money from my broker (40+ stocks, 500K) to a few ETFs (Equal Weight) , I'm considering the following ETFs: XIC, IWO, CDZ, SPY, FDN, and FIE; would you please help me choose four or five ETFs from the list, I'm looking for moderate growth, and of course preservation if capital.
Thanks
Q: One of your recent articles stated that you favour tech stocks now. I hold CSU, OTEX, ENGH, SYZ, and KXS. What is your recommended weighting of tech stocks now? I was thinking of going to 15% across my portfolios. I believe you favour industrials as well, I hold CCL.B, WPK, CNR, SJ, MG, MAL, and KBL - are they considered to be industrials?
Q: I am looking for a mid cap silver miner/producer but the only ones I know of are Fortuna, Tahoe and Endeavour. Do you have other suggestions that I may compare to these three. Thanks
Q: Hi All at 5i!!! I would like your advice. I would like to design a fixed , very, very (did I mention very?) conservative portfolio which will preserve my principle and earn me 4-5% income. This money will be held outside of a registered account. I own enough stocks, and do not want to add any more if I can help it. I own a good portion of the dividend aristocrats already. I understand that the taxation is not favorable outside of a registered account for fixed income and this may be a tall order considering how low interest rates are. Do you have any tools in your investment tool box to help me with this, and what would they be? Kind Regards, Tamara
Q: My question is about ARRY. I know the company is out of your wheel-house, but wondering if you have any opinions on them. Should I do some profit-taking or hold for the longer term. Friday seemed like a bad day for the stock for whatever reason, but this is not a reaction to that.
Cheers
