Q: So Mitel reported non GAAP earnings of .12 but GAAP loss of .07.
They congratulated themselves on beating Street estimates of earnings of .08.
Does The Street consider both types of earnings equally valid? Are the self congratulations in order?

Q: I like AVO's growth but am concerned about AVO's lower reported operating cash flow vs. earnings. In the first nine months of 2015 the company reported $22M of earnings but only $9M of operating cash flow. The difference is due to spending on inventory, which the company is presumably doing to support future growth. However, the Days In Inventory ratio indicates it's taking AVO longer to sell its inventory than it used to. In your experience, is lower reported cash flow vs. earnings a cause for concern for investors? Also, do you think this could be a red flag that AVO is channel stuffing into its integrator network? I'm deciding whether to add a small position (1-2%) in AVO because of its growth potential and what appears to be an attractive valuation on P/E. Thanks

Q: Which seem to be the better investment between Centrica and SSE?

Centrica and SSE were hit hard by Labour opposition plans to regulate the industry further and although Labour lost the election the stocks never fully recovered. This is especially in the case of Centrica. Centrica owns Direct Energy in Alberta as well as British Gas so at first sight would appearto be less impacted by UK politics.

How do you think the UK utilities compare with those in Canada? They seem to be much cheaper on most metrics and the UK has one if the highest growth rates in the G8. Do you think either SSE or Centrica look better value than your favourite Canadian utility?

Q: Just a general question about the bids on Hydro One. I have level 2 quotes with TD Active Trader. I put an order in for H this morning at $20. The order was accepted and I saw it pop up on the Level 2 quotes but moments later it disappeared. I continued watching and saw dozens of other bids being put in and then disappearing from the bid side of the screen and this happened with all bids below $22.00 Is this the market maker playing games trying to hide all the lower priced bids from showing up or is there some other reason this is taking place?

Q: YTD price is down approx. 30%, fwd PE is 9.7 and yld is 7.3%. Any reason other than cycle and retiring CEO. I like this company and sector long term. Is it screaming buy?

I've owned AVO for about 18 months. After what seemed like decent numbers this quarter the stock dropped yet again (a stock the market hates). Do you think I would be better off re-deploying my AVO capital into any or all of GUD (Knight) and/or IT (Intertain) and/or DRT (Dirt Environmental)? I own 1/2 positions in all three. I now have about a 1/4 position in AVO.
