Q: Diageo PLC ( DEO)
- I like the business, they have great brands, they provide products that people consume in these down markets, covid lockdowns, world war concerns, night out on the town...- If people go out to a restaurant, bar or liquor store, they are buying one or multiple of their products...
- What is your take on a Long Term buy/hold, with stock price and dividend and overall comment of the company ?
Thanks,
M

Q: Ukraine’s State Energy Company Keeps Russian Gas Flowing as War Rages
An uneasy alliance between Ukraine’s Naftogaz and its Russian counterpart sustains gas supply to Europe and fills government coffers on both sides of the fighting.
Peter; Just saw this on my WSJ - maybe this is why NG is off so sharply. Rod

Q: Hi Team,
What are the chances of these companies going bankrupt from 1 (highly unlikely) to 10 (highly likely).
Are either likely going to need to issue shares for funding?
Thanks

Q: I am considering taking a position in both of the above equities. Would you consider this a prudent buy or are they too similar in nature, i.e. overlapping. Both do not seem to have done too well, even prior to the present market downturn.
Thanks, David

Q: Hi! I’m evaluating the Canadian banks and I’m trying to find historical averages for price to book and price to earnings ratios. Can you outline historical ranges where Canadian banks were cheap and why Canadian banks trade higher than u.s. banks on price to book? Is it due to their oligopoly status?
Thanks,
Jason

Q: I was listening to Ross Healy on BNN Market Call this morning, and he thinks the NASDAQ composite could drop by 75-80% off its peak. I also saw a headline on the same show whereby a Manulife survey indicated that 25% of homeowners would sell their homes if interest rates continue to climb upwards. Can you comment on the historical relationship between stock prices and house prices? For example, if stocks tank, will house prices follow downwards? Or if house prices drop significantly, can we expect a major market sell off?
Q: Hi there, I hold a large amount of my portfolio in these broad based ETFs. I have about 30% in cash. At these levels, would you be adding to these indexes for a long term hold? How likely do you think it is that we would see SPY at 3300 to 3400 range? What would your strategy be to deploy my cash position into equities? Thank you!
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
Please give your assessment of this company going forward. The price is cheap and I am thinking it might be a good long term contrarian play...even with inflation we have to eat. How risky would a buy be...better to wait for a lower price...I see we are now officially in a bear market...are we getting near the bottom? Thanks as always...your opinions are always valued.

Q: What are your top picks for industrials in Canada?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: These are companies that I’ve held small positions in, based on future potential as I could see their businesses being very relevant in the future. Would you consider them worth adding to, with the goal of long term (albeit higher risk) growth prospects?
Q: There is a lot of negative sentiment toward Shopify right now. It worries me when early investors like Mawer pull their money and others seem very bearish. Are you still bullish long term? I currently hold a big loss and wonder if I should keep holding on?
Q: Hi,
If the main issues for CNR are inflation, labor issues, recession and supply shortages. Seems all 4 are taking the rails off the stock, down roughly 30$ from it's high. Still thinking it can go much lower. From your view at which price this stock becomes a value or even a deep value?
Thank you
