Investment Q&A
Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.
Q: NFI has announced a package of initiatives which I assume are intended to address their burgeoning order book. There are a bunch of questions which arise as a result of their action including but not limited to adequacy and effectiveness, dilution, balance sheet improvement, residual problems etc. Could you please appraise their initiative and offer your comments?
Q: What do you expect from forecast release today? Do you find good reason to get in at 52 week low share price? Tks. Larry
Q: Hi 5i,
CTS closed at $3.35 yesterday a couple of days after its quarterly results came out.
WELL meanwhile closed at $5.30 yesterday, the day before this morning's release of its latest quarterly results.
I own both and I'm down substantially on CTS and down somewhat on WELL. I'm feeling optimistic about the latter, not so much about the former.
I wonder if you could do a quick side-by-side QUANTITATVE comparison of the two and, based on that, advise if you think the present price discrepancy between them is justified by the underlying numbers, or if it it's based on sentiment. If the latter, what are your thoughts on a turn around in the perception of CTS, and where might it be price wise if it wasn't in the doghouse? (I wonder if yesterday's 23% gain for CTS could be meaningful ...?)
Thanks!
Peter

Q: Good evening
Can you please comment on this REIT ? Dividend was not cut since 2013 and according to my broker's record there was considerable insider buying during the last year. Lately it is dropping. Would you consider it a sell, buy or hold ? I will appreciate it if you can also comment on the dividend sustainability
Thanks

Q: The earnings estimates for CSU for 2023 ($81.51) and 2024 ($97.14) seem substantially higher than what was actually reported in 2022 ($24.18), 2021 ($14.65) 2020 ($20.59). What would explain the analysts estimating EPS over three times higher in 2023 compared to 2022?

Q: If I were to use DLR and DLR.U to convert currency then would this trade need to be reported when filing taxes? I'm not sure as there would not be any capital gain or loss (am I right?) If I do need to report the trade then I assume that I could claim the commission as expenses? Please clarify. Thanks in advance.
Q: Seemed to go down as fast as it went up-could you comment ?
Q: Hi 5i,
Have a question about brokerage bank accounts and government guaranties. My understanding is each account could have $100,000 in CDIC if it qualifies and each account generally has $1,000,000 in coverage though another entity. If one has hypothetically $2,000,000 is one account the are at some risk as they are only covered to $1,000,000. Should the person buy treasury bills and stock (companies) in their account as if the bank gets in trouble you still own these assets, I cannot imagine the assets being liquidated and sold in a bankruptcy.

Q: Hi Peter,
I recently discovered ABC company. I hadn't heard of it before. Upon further investigation, I was impressed by its consistent outperformance of estimates and excellent track record. It reminds me of CSU. What is your opinion on this company? Could you provide some pros and cons for long-term investment? Also, are there any other better options in the medical industry?
Best,
Matt
