Q: I believe the main reason for the sudden drop in HWO over the past few days is that a stock advisory service, which had been recommending HWO as a buy for the last few years, suddenly issued a SELL recommendation, due to risk of lower oil prices and declining cash flows. The notice came out at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (1PM EST) on Wed, and the stock price dropped immediately on sudden large volume.

Q: In my RRSP for U.S. holdings I own DIA, IWO, IBB and VTI. I'm wondering if VTI is overkill because most of it is covered in the others? I'm thinking of selling it and deploying it into the others. If you agree, how should I deploy my US capital across DIA, IWO and IBB percentage wise? 50%, 25% and 25% or what do you suggest?
In my non registered account I was planning to put my US cash into the Dogs of the Dow, as I'm looking more for stability and dividends with that money. Do you think this is a good approach?

Q: My portfolio is mostly Canadian companies. I would like more U.S exposure. I think Canadian ETFs would be best for me. Are there any which would contain companies like Apple, Facebook or Amazon? Is there an economic area and ETF you think will outperform that could invest in?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: THIS SEEMS LIKE A SOLID BLUE CHIP U.S. COMPANY WITH A DECENT DIVIDEND AT A GOOD PRICE. YOUR THOUGHTS ON TRUMP AND OR AMAZON HURTING IT IN THE FUTURE. THANKYOU
Q: I purchased Tenneco in July 2016 when it passed the 5I-Scratch-Test, and am now up 39%, comprising 4% of my portfolio. Should I hang onto this one, and is the weighting still appropriate for a moderate risk taker? Earnings come out soon and wondering if they have telegraphed expectations. Thanks!
Q: Hi
Do you have any thoughs on CFW (Calfrac) and TCW (TriCan) service companies? Any thoughts on the Oil service sector in general.

Q: What do you think of copper going forward? Is there any other metal you think should do well in this cycle? If yes, what companies would be preferred by you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Hi Gang, GPS had a good day yesterday with big volume on an up day but after looking closer it looks like a big selling around 11 AM, was curious if you guys see this and is volume movement not the canary in the coal mine or is this simple manuplination by the market makers. Thanks Anthony
Q: Can you comment on the recent run up on Mega's price over the past year. Do you figure there is any further upside potential and or support for gains? Have some play money and wondering whether to take a chance on it. Thank you.

Q: Your response to a recent question asking which of these companies to add to:
"BIP has grown the dividend by 16% and BEP has grown the dividend by 35.5%. We would use history as the guide here and side with BEP.UN."
Consider over the past year BEP.UN share price increased by 7.5% whereas BIP.UN increased by 36.5%. Over 5 years BEP.UN gained 46% but BIP.UN gained 132%. In my history book BIP.UN wins hands down notwithstanding the difference in dividend increase last year.

Q: Hello Peter,
Facebook announced great results;however, the stock hardly moved. Any comments? For gold, would you consider kirkland lake and detour as long term holds in that sector. Also, constellation software after the article in the globe has taken a step back. Is it good time to add more? Thanks very much

Q: Gary's question regarding the border adjustment tax 9BAT) on oil reflected my concern, as well. Presently, Canada ships 3.5 boe and Mexico is at about 800,000 so energy independence seems well down the road. If there is a BAT, some have said gasoline prices in the US will rise proportionately. I don't understand that conclusion. Canada only gets $40/barrel and Mexico $46. They can't raise the price to cover the tax so does that mean US recipients will get less and then raise prices to consumers?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: Hello,
My TFSA current composition is:
ATD.B(20%),KXS(30%),GUD(20%),NFI(20%),and YRI(10%)(Thanks 15%UP).
What changes would you make to my TFSA to make it more aggressive, I understand it also means more risk. What would you get rid off in my setup.
Muchas gracias!

Q: Please share your analysis of Affiliated Managers Group Inc, thanks!
Q: Please share you analysis of World Acceptance Corp, thanks.
Q: Your preference between Intertape Polynmer (ITP) and ZCL Composites (ZCL).
Consensus eps estimates has ITP earning $1.16 in 2017 and $1.23 in 2018. Not all that inspiring but the business seems stable enough and its in a sector where, I think, if the US economy picks up I can envision the company beating those eps estimates.
ZCL is cheaper using 2017 eps estimates for comparative purposes and seems to have a little better growth going forward. However with ZCL their business seems a little more difficult to predict.
Your opinions are appreciated.
Thanks.
John

Q: BIP.UN and BEP.UN both released their Q4 results in the last two days and both raised their payouts. I currently hold both stocks. If I'm to increase my investment in only one of them, which one would you prefer in terms of longer term growth and further payout increases down the road? Thanks for your insight.
Q: Good Morning.
I wanted to make room for GSY in my RRSP. Would you endorse a switch from ECN/EFN? Or do you see this alternative unnecessary?
Thank you
