Q: Hi, I am looking to sell my SVM shares to take a tax loss. However, with the price of silver down and a potential bounce that may occur soon, could you recommend a couple alternatives I could buy now to take advantage of any bounce that occurs in the precious metals? I already own AEM and Goldcorp on the gold side. How does First Majestic compare with SVM, besides it being triple the market cap, would it be a suitable replacement? Any better options that may offer more torque in a bounce? Thanks.

Q: Apart from a brief scare because of the GOP tax proposals US home builders have been on a consistent winning streak YTD. What Canadian companies would you recommend in that sector, since here building permits have been soaring recently?

Any Companies that benefit from all the empty boxes that will need to be recycled ?
Who are major box manufactures in USA & Canada. Transcontinental ? RAK

Q: Hello Peter and Team,

I do like BCI quite a bit as people need glasses. It's one of those boring areas of the market that is a necessity. A couple questions though:
Would BCI be considered a staple or a discretionary stock? I feel like it should be a staple as vision is not something I would forgo.
As well, in your report there isn't any mention of how laser surgery is affecting a market. I do know quite a few people that have undergone laser surgery and who widely recommend it to others. How much is laser surgery affecting the marketplace? And how is cheap alternatives online affecting the marketplace?

Thank you for your great service as always!

Wes

Q: Good Morning: I have been selling down my shares in Crescent Point (finally throwing in the towel) but want to keep some exposure to oil/gas in case of a turn. I grant that it's hard to be optimistic about the sector at the moment, but would you please share your 3 or 4 "best bets" for the space. I would prefer to stay in the Canadian sector and I generally prefer, but am not insistent upon, dividend paying names. Thanks.

Q: I am an Alberta resident and in a low (15% federal rate) tax bracket and have the option of placing my $US investments in my TFSA or a regular investment account. Recognizing the 15% US withholding tax but also the foreign tax credit against Cdn tax owed, which account is preferable from a current income perspective?

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
I was thinking of putting money in CME, SQ, GS, GMP (toronto), XAU(toronto), and MOGO(toronto) as a means of getting myself started on investing in bitcoin. Any comments? Lastly, when a company like CMED is reluctant for a takeover, does this normally imply the company is looking for more money on the table or feels it can do it on its own? I know that is a speculative question but in general as it seems CMED is not backing down. Thanks very much.

Q: Hi there,

Spartan is sitting about $1.80 above it's 52 week low. WCP is just $.20 or so above its 52 week low and pays a 3%+ dividend. Can you offer an opinion on why Spartan has had a greater bounce (WCP didn't decline as much?). Also, if someone wants to own one of the two which would you pick today and why?

Thanks!
