Q: What is a solid level of free cash flow a company should deliver and what are your favoured 5 stocks in each of Canada and the US with high free cash flow? Thank you.
Q: The Trade Desk presently has sales of 86% in North America and 14% in international. The president believes that in the long run, international will become a bigger part of the overall revenues which is promising.
On the other side I see a strong growth in stock base compensation every year. In 2018 there was around 424 M of stock and now it is more than 500 M. No acquisitions were made to dilute shareholders and there is no buyback at the moment. They could put one in place in the future since they have 1 B in cash and no debt.
I know that stock base compensations is a way to acquire and retain strong talents but do you believe that it is bad for us as shareholders ?

Q: Up until now, I have only part full or nearly full positions in a stock while trying to keep my total number of stocks under 30 in number. However, I am now considering taking a slightly different approach and buying a basket of some beaten-up stocks, likely from those noted above.
Since I am new to this strategy, my question is, what would you consider to be a useful percentage to devote to a stock that will allow for meaningful gains while limited individual risk? I'm thinking 1% is too little, 1.5% might be enough and certainly no more than 2%.
Your insight is appreciated.
regards,
Paul F.

Q: Should the stock prices of energy , agriculture, metals and materials shares hold up in a time of higher interest rates, inflation and possible recession
Q: I am looking to possibly add to GSY. I am comparing to TD and BNS in the following order: GSY,TD,BNS with PB Ratio: 2.9, 1.9, 1.7; PE Ratio: 8.8, 12.7, 11.6; DIV(%): 2.6, 3.5, 4.3. Would you think the disparity in the PE Ratio may continue with GSY? It looks like a buy for growth but (as usual) I am probably missing something. I currently have both TD and GSY. Thoughts please. Thanks Dan.
Q: What do you think of HOG right now? Value trap? Wait or buy ? Thanks
Q: Sorry but I have ask this. Is there a Canadian stock that at the moment you (Peter) are thinking ... boy I wish I did not have the rule about not buying a Canadian stock according the 5i company rules of not owning Canadian stocks? I realize that absolutely nothing is guaranteed these days and anything can happen. Just asking. Thanks again.

Q: Can you please give me your recommendation on a defence stock or stocks that you like at this time when many countries will be increasing their defence budgets. Thank You.
Q: Hi team. I was fortunate to add to my Nvdia position at $219 a couple of weeks ago. Nvdia has now grown to 7% of my investment portfolio (stocks) and 6% of my total portfolio. I know you can’t get specific with weightings. I do see you typically trim your balance model portfolio around 8% when a winner runs.
Thoughts on how you decide to trim a winner and when?

Q: Hi,
CP seems to be not only holdings it's own, but trading at 52 week highs. All this while it's in a labour dispute with its union.
I would have thought that it's share price would fall with a labour dispute.

Q: Hi 5i I just sold some of my Nutrient to bring my holdings back to 6%. I am looking for suggestions for a replacement, in the material sector. I am a income investor
Q: I have held IVN since about $3. Closed today at $11.56. Given the size of their recently producing copper mine. Robert Friedland, Co-chair. Their rhodium, palladium. gold, platinum and nickel reserves I hope to hold this for a long time in spite of being situated in DRC. I should add I hold teck.b and Freeport as well for copper. I am happy with Ivanho as smaller copper producer. But am thinking of future for their other materials as listed.
What risks do you see in IVN?
Thank you, Mike

Q: Hi Everyone! What do you think of Warren Buffett’s pending purchase of Alleghany? It is my impression that a certain portion will be held in the Berkshire B fund which I already own. Would it be worthwhile to purchase a few shares of Alleghany separately?? Cheers, Tamara
Q: Hi, could I please have your opinion on the long end of the yield curve. The consensus seems to be that economic growth is starting to slow, inflation is increasing but may moderate in the second half but remain sticky and that the Fed may make a policy mistake by over tightening. To date the yield curve has steepened, short and long yields have increased, shorts more than longs. How might you see this playing out going forward. Do you think the long end of the curve presents an opportunity at this point? I am considering long perpetual preferreds which have also corrected but offer more generous tax favoured income (around 5%) than long bonds? Many thanks.
