Q: Hi, Could you please confirm the Ex-Dividend Dates for these two companies. The company investor relations website says Ex-Dividend Date - Sep 29, 2022 and Record Date - Sep 30, 2022. But the TMX as well as our CIBC Brokerage shows Ex-Dividend Date as Sep 28, 2022. Could you please confirm. Thank You

I would like to buy either PID:CA ( using CA$) or VYMI ..given their depreciated value (and high US$ ).Both have great dividends but the macro is awful and holding me back which makes me think it is exactly the right time to start easing in. Even with the great financial position it is in with almost 4 billion and little debt, is it time to let ZIM go or hang in for the long haul? All the signs that scream "SELL: are not there, no change in direction, no change in administration, no cut in dividend, in fact even a share buyback scheme is in place. So is it a keeper and just hang in or get out and absorb the losses?

Q: What's your thoughts on starting to buy into VOO at this point for a 20 year time horizon and any any guesses on market bottom?

Q: Saw this company from the questions page. Took a quick look at their fundamentals. Wouldn't it have better served the company and investors to do a 10% share buyback then to announce a dividend. That would have retired 25 million shares.

Q: Falling knife? I'm guessing sometime in the next quarter, oil prices will rebound.
Is it worthwhile to begin accumulating at these levels and lower ? Thanks!

I’m confused with the last press release of Brookfield on Friday :

""...The transaction will result in the division of Brookfield into two publicly traded companies – the Corporation (Brookfield Asset Management Inc. will be renamed “Brookfield Corporation”) and the Manager with the holders of Brookfield’s class A ………becoming shareholders of the Manager on completion (the “Arrangement”).

• Brookfield Corporation and the Manager will respectively own 75% and 25% of our asset management business;

• the Class A Shares of the Corporation are expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (the “TSX”) under the new ticker symbol “BN”;

• the Manager’s class A limited voting shares (“Manager Class A Shares”) are expected to trade on the NYSE and TSX under the ticker symbol “BAM”;

• each holder of Class A Shares will receive 1 Manager Class A Share for every 4 Class A Shares held;


It looks like the actual BAM.A shares will be « renamed » BN. And "NewBam" shares issued on 1 for 4 basis. Is it right?


Do you know how long it could take to implement the changes after the Nov9 meeting? 5-10 days? I plan to transfer some shares of BAM out of my RRIF this year and I prefer to wait after the spinoff.

Q: I keep thinking it might be time to start buying, but the price just keeps dropping. The TTM P/E is negative but the Globe's data shows a low forward P/E. Is that likely? It was trading below its current stock price prior to Covid so I wonder if it has other avenues currently available to generate profits.

Q: If you held CAE and CJT would you stay with them or buy another industrial stock with the same or better growth profile in this environment? If so, which stock would you recommend?
