I'm just curious ... Who are your heroes are in the investment world that have shaped your investment philosphy? Are there any books or insights that describe your investment process?
5i, thanks for the great work that you do. You're doing a great service to Canadian investors.
Q: I have a question about Onex. The stock price has been increasing recently and I wondered the reason for this rise. What do you think of adding to my shares here?
Thank you 5i for a great job!
Q: I was encouraged by Avigilon's quarterly performance until I compared profits with history and looked at actual earnings per share rather than the adjusted earnings per share shown. Actual was only $0.08. I questioned to myself the adjustments which increased the earnings to $0.21. Also, compared to history, there was nothing outstanding solely in terms of earnings per share. The only positive I see is record revenue but to me a huge revenue is not worth a lot unless it translates into profits. Perhaps I am missing something but I see no reason to continue to hold my shares in this company. I did not follow your advice and did average down with an average purchase price of $21.38 per share. Do you share my thoughts on this company? Thank you
Ed
Q: Hi Peter /group I presently have around $300,000 cash (in a tradable business account)I do not want to take any /little risk with this hard earned $. What should I invest in with Capital preservation being the #1 focus. Thanks for your valued advise
Q: Hi Peter & team
Now that the camp is in place and power lines to be completed this 4th quarter. What are your thoughts on PVG and a half position at this time?
Q: We have sold cottage and have 600,000$ to invest. Looking for 12 safe(!!!) or safest dividend paying stocks with an understanding that stocks can go down but good companies usually come back.
Thanks
Jean
Q: Hi I have some money that I want to park for a few years in a couple of stocks that are considered conservative. I am thinking of ALA and Chemtrade. They both seem reasonably priced. I will be reinvesting the dividends. Are these good choices and can you recommend a couple of others? I have considered SLF but it sure moves quickly based on interest rate news or rumours. Thanks, Bill.
Q: Does this marijuana related company has any reason to rise about 50 percent today. Is there more room to run for speculation. It is traded on CNSX. Thank you.
Q: Could you rank these as your number 1, 2 and 3 picks for growth, and provide some rationale. I am looking at one of these for a long-term hold of perhaps 5 years or more.
Thank-you
Q: After reasonably positive financial results the shares made a new low on large volume. The only negative I could find was the low cash position triggering higher interest rate on the debentures. Would you suggest to continue holding or accept that the market is saying that there is something wrong with the company.
Thanks for the great service. Peter
Q: Hi,
I've found myself having a position in both these companies. Do you see long term value in keeping both, or do you think there's too much overlap between them? I have been thinking about buying into marijuana stock now and would be rolling any money from a potential sale into it.
Q: i have this as an income stock for the divident but it seems to be dropping faster then the payout
as well i had origonally bought it for some capital appreciation
do you see much more downside or any potential upside
