Q: A few months ago, I purchased a small position in GLXY, in a TFSA.It is down about 40% and it is now well below 1 % of our overall portfolio. A current contribution results in some new funds being available. I am considering adding to GLXY or alternatively moving on to SVM. Dividends are not a priority, and the objective for this account is good growth, with accepting some measure of risk. .Which of these 2 do you think is the better route to go? Also, do you think the recent regulatory change in China regarding silver is an impediment for that company; if so, is there another silver play that you would prefer? Thanks so much for your excellent service.

Q: With Venezuela's action, Canadian Oil companies are taking a hit today. Is it a buying/adding in opportunity? I am considering adding positions to CNQ, PPL, TOU, and any other recommendations you may have.

Q: Happy New Year!
I am looking at where to deploy my TFSA contribution for this year and would be interested to hear your thoughts. My largest position is BN at close to 5% so I am thinking of adding to my smaller positions listed above. If this were your portfolio, would you add this year's $7000 to one stock, or add smaller amounts to two or three stocks? Or, would you only add to BN as it is still at a sleep at night percentage?
Thank you!

Q: I have owned BCE for 15 years and T (Telus) for maybe 10 years or less - combined $80K investments. Both are down for different reasons. I am up , including dividends a fair bit as I reinvest the dividends where opportunities present. Would you add to T at the current price?
Q: Re: Mayfair Gold Corp and Snowline Gold Corp
Watched an interesting interview with Darren Mclean who highlighted a couple of gold companies:
MFG (not listed on your database yet) and SGD.
He's the one who actually flew satellites over mining projects and read drill reports personally to decide whether projects were a "scam" or legit.
What drew me to this was the idea that Muddy Waters and Darren Mclean are taking long positions in these companies, despite their primary business being short sellers.
Here is the original article by Larry McDonald of the Globe and Mail, including the video link:

Wondering what your thoughts are on these two companies, especially as share prices have run up parabolically on SGD?
My interest would be in small speculative positions only.
Thanks and happy holidays.

iShares Global Tech ETF (IXN $107.32)
Q: Greetings 5i Team:
I'm looking to make upgrades to some RBC Funds in my wife's accounts. Deduct as many credits as needed.
Can you suggest:
1. A general tech ETF of the same ilk as RBF 620 Global Technology Fund,
2. For that matter, can you suggest a (preferably Cdn dollar) cyber security ETF.
3. A substitute for RBF 615 US Equity Fund.
4. A substitute for RBF 617 US Midcap Fund (with the idea that small caps might actually catch a bid this year).
5. A healthcare ETF, preferably in Cdn dollars.
Thank you, you're much appreciated!
Pete in Calgary.

-
iShares Core Canadian Long Term Bond Index ETF (XLB $18.70)
Q: XLB and ZLC are my primary bond holdings. With the rather abrupt steepening of the yield curve, would you recommend selling both of these and replacing them with shorter term funds ? If so, which funds would you recommend ?
Thanks,
Mark
Thanks,

Q: How would you rank these? I hold all 3 and am thinking to sell OGI into either SNDL or GTII. I'm bullish on US cannabis in 2026 with 280e being removed after schedule 3 gets implemented and I don't see OGI as having many assets there. Are there other names with US assets that you prefer?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Crude oil price did not do well in 2025 but tve did great (thanks 5i). How common is it for an oil stock to outperform oil price?
-
Enbridge Inc. (ENB $68.47)
-
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNQ $53.48)
-
Constellation Energy Corporation (CEG $265.13)
Q: First, thank you for all your posted and individual guidance in 2025. It is very useful and comforting.
Fuel prices at the pump are now quite low and the Venezuela takeover has shocked the sector.
I am wondering about these 3 oil related stocks which have all dropped today. Do you see the sector going downhill and if so, what are the reasons, and whether or not a reversal of those same issues would lead to an increase in sector performance. Or is there any other new information on these stocks which could lead them to continue to slide.
Many thanks and Happy 2026 to your entire team at 5i.

Q: Any part of their business domiciled in the US gets taxed? Correct?
This has been the case with..."BROOKFIELD INFRASTRUCTURE PARTNERS L P UNITS MLP NON-RES TAX WITHHELD "
This is not happening with my BEP.UN also in my TFSA. These were both purchased in a CAD account I'm likely missing something obvious?
I must have missed something. Thank You

Q: Do you feel OUST makes sense as a speculative add now?
Q: How do you think the recent moves by China to restrict exports of silver and other metals will impact your recent assessment of SVM
Q: What are your thoughts on AGMR. I'm bullish on silver and it's trading at a fraction of first year revenues with exploration upside. Do you see any risks other than the obvious restarting of a mine and operating in Peru? I see there are some strikes and roadblocks happening there and an election upcoming, any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Thanks
