Q: My wife and I each have 15000 in contribution room for our TFSAs. Thus far we have chosen more aggressive growth companies (such as KXS,GUD,SIS,NFI among others) based on your excellent recommendations. Can you suggest a few companies with potential growth but with a bit more size/stability than our existing choices. For example, we have considered FTS but are not sure if its growth profile is an appropriate fit for a TFSA. Thank you for your advice.

Q: I own these 2 stocks in equal amounts in my TFSA which equate to 6% of my total portfolio-the rest in RSP which comprises of mainly banks, utilities ,REITs and infrastructure stocks along with AD,SPB,VSN,WEF and PKI. Am looking for a dividend paying small cap stock with 4% yield with growth prospects to add to TFSA. Any ideas? Thanks

Q: I read with interest Jason's Aug. 24 comment on being allocated some subscription receipts with IPL's recent deal. How does one go about receiving such offers?
Q: Would appreciate a update on your views on HNL and HBM. Thank you
Q: Reportedly ENB wants to raise as much as US$7 bil for general corporate purposes including reducing debt & financing capital spending, but it does not expect to spend the funds on any specific project. What is going on?The market certainly dislike as it took a sharp drop today
Q: Would you recommend buying, holding or selling DIV and why would you do so?
Q: if hcg lost 30 to 40 percent on the equity of a house and put that into context of the vancouver housing market, with some of their clients inability to pay their loans i could see their being a valid concern. why not wait it out grab some shares at tax loss season in 2017 or later
Q: Hi team, Polaris Infrastructure has gone up about 30% so far in August. I bought this stock back in April and they started paying a dividend in May. Is there more upside potential or is it time to take profits? Thanks.
Q: I've read and heard a lot of pundits caution about the stretched valuations of Utilities, Consumer Staples and dividend payers as the market looks for yield. What I'm having a hard time understanding is that if that were true, then I would expect yields on those assets to be pushed down as price increases, but these assets still seem to be yielding higher than historical averages. Am I missing something?
Q: I was allocated some subscription receipts with IPL's recent deal. I am looking to add another pipeline company with a strong and growing dividend that is fairly value or under valued if you can find one. What would you suggest? Also, do you believe that energy infrastructure should be included in our energy sector exposure or utility exposure or other?
Thanks,
Jason
Thanks,
Jason
Q: I am looking for growth + income and trying to identify stocks with a decent value position. What are your thoughts on Hammond Power Solutions? Do the recent earnings have a significant effect on the decision to buy and hold longer term (for me that's 2 + years).Thank-you.
Q: I have a question about Manulife Floating Rate Senior Loan Fund (MFR.UN). It pays a monthly dividend of .0563 (annual div .68) at today's share price of $8.48 for a yield of 7.96%. Is this riskier than a preferred share? Does the floating rate change monthly? Or is it set annually or on a longer period? This investment could be in my RRSP or TFSA account.
Q: Given the 2 Aug 15/16 press releases regarding Q2 earnings and commencement of issuer bid/revised bid terms, what actions would you recommend with the goal of optimizing a shareholders situation? I've been advised by their investor relations rep. that BV/share is $8.85 at June 30. Disregard commission costs if selling in open market at certain price is recommended as these costs are negligible in my case.
Q: Is this not a Canadian company? I hold it in my TFSA and my bank has it listed as a foreign holding. Am I subject to witholding taxes, then?
Q: just read Peter's earlier question on CBO. I'm in the same boat. Over the past year CBO has returned exactly 0.44%. The distributions have almost been completely offset by the decline in CBO's unit price. A return of pretty much 0% is not what I expected from this one, especially since CBO was/is highly recommended by 5i.
Q: Thank you for the response re: Fortis,Enbridge and Emera. Would you please elaborate on the guidelines specified in the question for each? I should have been more specific in my question. Please deduct a question from my holdings. Thank you.
Q: Without regard to sector,in which order would you rank these as the better dividend paying stock for a long term hold.I am talking 5 years plus
Q: I have zero exposure to utilities at the present time. I believe that you advocate having exposure to all sectors of the market because you never can know for certain what the market will do. While most people expect interest rates to rise and utilities to under perform, the same could have been said in 2013. Which is your favourite utility and which utility offers the best dividend growth to potentially offset future interest rate increases. I am looking for low volatility, good dividend yield and good dividend growth.
Thank you,
Jason
Thank you,
Jason
Q: I a chasing dividends. Own 21 other diversified stocks with 5-6 percent weightings. I am looking at CPX, AD, FC and TF. What are your ratings on these 1 to 4. Thanks in advance.
Q: You have said that AD os "ok to buy". I heard on BNN that they have 5 (of about 14?) investments that are not now paying any royalties, although they are trying to (re)structure something with those five. Is it true? Was this your understanding when you said it is "ok to buy"? That level of nonpayment worries me.
