Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I bought NEE in a tax-deferred account because of fast-growing power demands by AI and other technologies (also because you liked it so much). It has been a frustrating business to hold, especially compared to other utilities like DUK and AEP. Did NEE become a victim of the current US admin’s pig-headedness about renewables ? NEE shares worth holding ? Analysts seem torn : several rate it a strong buy but almost as many rate it as hold/sell. Questions posed to different AI engines give responses that are just as conflicted.

What do you think of NEE’s business model and the prospects for share appreciation over the next 3 years vs. its peers? If possible, some in-depth comment would help . Please act as critical umpires who are now fed up (pretend if you must). If you have better ideas (preferably US , UK or Europe) I would welcome your suggestions.

Q: Sharing this for other investors in AXON, the question on Sep 3 RE: AXON's performance. For me personally, in addition to the points made by 5i I think AXON has a big moat and is quite sticky if you understand policing budgets. Their suite of products really helps police be more efficient and less lethal.

For anyone interested there was an excellent interview with AXON's founder and CEO on Bloomberg Business Daily here: (start at 3:30)

Q: Hi 5i Team - Could you provide an update on Valeura including your take on its Q2 report. Please include insider ownership and any recent activity, its potential for growth, and anything else you think is significant. I am not sure whether to continue holding (small position) or take profits.
Thanks.

Q: Do you see a benefit in owning a company, and then an ETF that writes covered calls on that company, such as SHOP and SHPE, or MSTR and MSTE in order to capture upside, and also get an income distribution? Please provide pros and cons, and if both owned, what sort of division - 50/50, 60/40 (asset/ETF) etc. - thanks!

Q: Hi
The world seems to be so focused on stocks like GOOGL, APPL, NVDA, TSLA whereas I don’t see a lot of hype around SHOP.

In your mind does SHOP have the inherent appeal to grow at the same rate as the above stocks?
Would you please rank SHOP compared to the rest i.e 1-5,

Thanks

Q: Hi, similar question for both of these stocks. I have a smaller position in both, I'm under about 20% and losing patience with both of them, although on paper they seem to be doing well! What might your views be on selling them at a loss and putting them into something with more growth, like NBIS (or do you have other suggestions if I were to reinvest)? I'm a non-resident, so cannot use the losses for tax purposes. Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i
Today the "Company announced it has partnered with Superstate to allow stockholders to tokenize and hold GLXY shares onchain....This milestone marks the first time a public company has tokenized its SEC-registered equity directly on a major blockchain. "

What does that mean and how do you view this transaction going forward ? Is it big positive or not and potential positive catalyst?

thx

Q: Good morning- I notice that in recent questions about gold companies, EQX is not amongst your favourites. I hold EQX and AEM. Would I be better off selling EQX and either adding to AEM or a different company? If so, which do you suggest? Many thanks

Q: You have often commented that timing the market (bottom or top) is next to impossible and I do agree. In one of your recent updates you talked about the “Volatility Index” and it being an indicator of when you could step into the market and the level of volatility could provide some guidance when trying to buy the dip”.

Could you provide some commentary about the level of volatility and your thinking about how it can help determine when to step into the market?

Thanks
Tim
