Q: Can you comment on the relative returns of CASH versus CIB238 CIBC MON MKT FP /NL'FRAC. Today's rate for CIB238 shows 3.97% but this has been slowly going down as rates drop. For parking money for a few months up to a 6 months, which offers the best return?
I am a 65 year old retiree. I am considered an Alpha-Balanced investor according to Portfolio Analytics.
I need to simplify my portfolio in order to make it easier for my wife to manage as we get older. I like the idea of having all in one ETF's. Based on my Alpha Balanced risk tolerance which all in one ETF's would you recommend investing in for the long term? What percentage of overall portfolio would you invest in each all in one ETF? I realize you don't want to see more than 20% in each one but that would require at least 5 all in one ETF's? I was hoping for fewer.
With PRMW now gulped by a USA water company, what Canadian water oriented companies remain for investing? Please also comment on their prospects and timings for investment. Thank you.
Q: Looking at SOBO to replace BCE which am selling ( for tax loss ). Suppose Trump restarts the Keystone XL permit process. Would SOBO be interested and what would be the effect on the stock do you think.? Thanks. Derek.
Q: Hello team,
What is your view on Canadian Banks at this point? The PE ratios seem to be on the high side according to yahoo.. Also, can you comment on Descartes Systems earnings .. the outlook does not seem to be positive given potential tariffs that could be slapped on with new administration.. is it still a buy? Thanks very much
Q: I am losing patience with ULTA and am thinking of using this recent bump to top up my AXON and ISRG. I have a half position in both these later two stocks. Do you have any thoughts?
Q: Where do you expect small cap stocks to go over the next few years given that they have been relatively underperforming over the last few years seemingly? It appears they are starting to move forward and starting a catch up with all other bigger capped stocks.
Q: Hello Team,
Could you comment on ZWEN please. Thinking about parking $ for 1-2 years, wile collecting 9%. What is the downside in the current environment? Can you recommend something else if this is not a good idea.
Thanks!
Q: I am deciding on whether to sell this ETF. It has done very poorly over the past 3 years. It is sitting in my RRSP so I can't get a capital loss which I can use for the future. What would be a better ETF to replace this with? Does IEMG have some future upside?
Q: Hi Peter, at the present I hold GSY in my RRSP at a slight loss and I was thinking of switching it out for SHOP. If a person could only buy one of these two companies witch one would be favored under today's circumstances and uncertainty. Thanks
Q: I have added at end an addendum to the question I sent just seconds ago (my apologies):
I was making use of the Thompson Reuters [since renamed and/or bought by LSEG(?) ] that were made available on broker platforms and through some financial papers. The said reports have not been available at such sites for several months. LSEG does not sell subscriptions to non-institutional customers. I am looking for alternate sites and ask if you have recommendations e.g. Koyfin, GuruFocus, FinChat , Trading View—and there are others you would know. Would you also care to suggest the best stock charting tools available that include hard to find data such as PEG, forward P/E, EV/EBITDA &c. Thank you. :ao:sab
Q: Further to Rob's question about the Forums this morning:
I wonder if newer subscribers are even aware of the Forums, unless they happen to come across it by accident at the bottom of the website (who scrolls down that far?).
At the beginning of the year you replaced the "forums" link at the top banner with "Podcast". But I recall that the banner used to feature close to a dozen links, including forums, albeit with the words spaced more closely together. Granted, "Companies Search" takes up room now, but given the the wide spacing between the current handful of links, couldn't "forums" be fitted back in there?
And/or added back to the left sidebar?
